Not Sure if this should go here, if not mods please stick it back in OOT

https://ibmvault.mybluemix.net/

Its a series of 6 puzzles where if you solve each one you move on to the next one. Sorta like a cicada 3301.

Anyone else wanna work on this with me?

I think this is a better forum for the OP [moved from SMP]. If not, I'm puzzled as to where it should go.

no it was really down. The entire contest has been one giant ****up by IBM.

It's back up now, but the answer to the first clue is a ****ing guessing game basically and depending on your browser setup it may not even take the correct answer.

PM me if you want the exact answer. Also be aware that depending on your browser it may not even take the correct answer if you enter it. Might be because of expired session or even a cookie, not sure.

Also really dumb that the answer is a list. If I were designing, I'd have made the first letters spell BABY ANT (or something) and the key would have been antling...

yeah, im really hoping the quality of the next locks are much better, and not so stupid.

I doubt they are even going to end up with 75 people who finish all 6, heh

This sucks

It’s been down the 20 times I’ve checked and now it’s up but apparently registration ended this morning at 9am when it says (register by 9/16)...uh, it’s still 9/16 and your site has been down most of the time...let me register, fools

This is the second lock if anyone who didnt get to work it because of stupid web issues wants to know

"fonchzopgemkevclewonvnbwtet"

The only clue is that the code above has hidden instructions and that the solution to the first clue will help you. (First clue solution was "Almaden, Austin, Cambridge, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, Dublin")

my initial thought:
Spoiler:

Spoiler:
That was the first thing I tried, didn't get anything. Tried Affine as well since you can just brute force all the combinations and got nothing. Playing with various substitution methods now, the letter frequency looks like what you would expect, so it's got to be something simple (at least i think)
Spoiler:
A=1 for my alphabet, not A=0 Thanks for the hint, cuz knowing it had to be that I realized what I was doing wrong
also, wow
Spoiler:
That is really stupid because looking at twitter, you wouldnt even have ever needed to solve this because there are like 30 tweets about it so its just obvious what you would need to do. This whole thing is an embarrasement, lol.
