The Codenames subgame is played 3 vs 3. The first player to sign up will be the red captain. The second will be the blue captain. 3 and 5 wil be red, 4 and 6 will be blue.

IMPORTANT: During the game, NO RESEARCH IS ALLOWED. Also you will post only things related to the subgame and nothing related to the ww game. Any kind of chat you may have is OFF.

There is a list of 25 words, all related to the HP universe:

• 9 words are red - for the red team
• 8 words are blue - for the blue team
• 7 words are neutral
• 1 word is cursed

Both captains receive a PM with the colored list. The same list will be posted itt without colors, sorted alphabetically. The captains give clues to their team to help them guess their own words.

How to give a clue:

• A clue consists of one (English) word and a number. The number indicates how many words in the list of 25 relate to that clue.
• The clue must relate to the meaning of the word, not to the position in the list, letters in the word, word length, relate by rhyme, etc.
• The clue may not be a word in the list of 25 or use a recognizable part of them
• The previous rule does not apply to words whose color has been revealed already.

The red team has one more word to guess and takes the first turn.

How to play a turn:

• The captain gives a one-word clue and a number (X). The guessers now debate freely and when they bold a word, the color of that word is revealed.
• If the color of the word equals the team, they may make another guess
• A team may pass if they are not sure, with the intention of taking a guess later in the game
• When a clue is given, a team may also guess a word that relates to any of the previous clues that were given.
• If the guess is a word that was neutral or belonged to the other team (thank you), the turn passes to the other team.
• The team may guess not more than X+1 words.
• After a misguess or after completing the X+1 guesses, the other team plays.

The first team whose words have all been revealed wins the game. However, if a team picks the cursed word, that team loses immediately.
