I wonder if there's any tweaks to the format that could make it even better. Or whether the correct solution it's just to run a 3rd game with the same format & the only difference being the categories & maybe the exact entrant list?

I thought that 13 might be too many initially, but I think it wasn't too bad.

The biggest complaint is obviously the scope and detail of the category.

Whoever is hosting needs to crack down on this to make it work and the people making the categories need to field questions about it just so there are no big screwups and things are fair. It's not fun at all if everyone is ****ting on picks because they say "oh that's not in the category..." and then not let people repick if they violate it. Screw it. Let people repick if they pick something that doesn't fit. (but it's better to ask questions beforehand. obv sometimes when making categories we don't think how something might be interpretted)

ooooo i like blondie a lot but their keyboardist isn't the thing that grabs people. If anything the bass and weird rhythms they used. THere is that Keyboard solo in Call Me but it's kinda standard solo.

probably a good player with a light sound. hmmm...not sure...

but really neither would have beat Emerson so #6 at best

Really I liked Dave Greenfield a lot and i'd never heard him before.

We did exactly that in this game though. Two people picked again after Mesopotamia was said to not be eligible.

And I had two people PM me asking if their documentary choices would be eligible (you included), and they got a response.

Not sure what your point is...

I did really discover how much I liked Ray Manzarec...he was such an essential element of Doors music other than jim's wailing. Really classy and great!

And Jon Lord added a layer of darkness to Deep Purple...really like the fires of hell type playing in his organ swirls.

I hated how low I ranked those two...but the others offer far more.

eyebooger, since you are the resident board game connoisseur: I was considering a couple of other games (although I think I made the right choice) and I woud like your thoughts on them. Rise and Fall, and Brittania (and, maybe, Maharaja).

Great reveal and congrats to the winners

I read through as this was going on

I've a couple of suggestions about how to run v3.0 of this:

1). All that want to sign up (Let's imagine 14 people sign up)
2). Competitors are randed into 2 groups (Of 7)
3). Each group gets its own thread and its own draft (Pick 6 things)
4). The top half of each group gets through to the final

Everyone gets to play, the 3 games are hopefully shorter and quicker to run than 1 big game.

Thoughts?

it's about this totally fanatical, talentless film maker desperately trying to make his movie. it's hilarious and poignant
