Hmmm brave choice Crimspn. Not saying it isn’t a great show but picking a show that first aired on May 99 seems risky to me. Interesting. To see judges scoring criteria.

I asked Suq. He said it was totally valid. I wouldn't have picked it otherwise.

Might be valid. Still a dubious pick considering it didn't even air an entire season in the 90s. There was a reason The Sopranos went undrafted in the last one...

Agree with D1ab, valid but risky based on overall judges criteria. Not saying it’s bad, just brave.

This pick in 80s musicians should get an interesting reaction.

Michael Jackson was a fine, logical pick. You think of the 80s, you think of MJ. He’s certainly a top 5 pick, regardless of the judging criteria, probably top 3.

This, however:

is clearly incorrect if you look at the judging criteria:

must have released at least one new album during the '80s, but will be judged on their entire body of work
Generally, there are three musical acts that are always at the very top of any GOAT list. The Beatles and Elvis are obviously ineligible in this category. Mine, however, is very eligible, having added seven albums to his already legendary catalogue.

He is the most influential and versatile singer-songwriter in history. Hell, he just won a Nobel Prize, for ****’s sake:

Bob Dylan

Also, I was going to take Spongebob first until I saw it didn’t debut until 1999. Definitely a high-risk, high-reward pick.

TN says it's on me.

On the phone so write-up later, but in the 80's music category, I'll choose "The Only Band that Matters," The Clash.

So there's a chance I might get to make a pick today...

Good picking all round guys btw

you can read that in one of two ways:

-You made a good pick
-You made a bad pick which is good for me

depends on whether you're a glass half full or empty sorta guy

While he is still available, I will take Prince in the 80's recording artists category.

How dominant and influential was Prince?
-He spent more weeks in the top 100 Billboard in the 1980s than any other artist or band
-He released 10 albums in the 1980s
-He had a song on the top 100 in the first week of the 80s, and the last week of the 80s
-He had more songs (26) on the single charts in the 80s than any other artist or band, including Micheal Jackson

Good pick but did he have Rollong Stone's Greatest Album of the 1980's?

Nope, The Clash did with London Calling.
