Finally sent my rankings and write-ups. Jimmies will be rustled.

Got most of them knocked out last night. Only two left, time machine and funniest joke (which I forgot about last time).

Should have them done either tomorrow or Wednesday.

Probably time to set a deadline for this, otherwise it will never finish.

I've got most of the guest judge rankings and a handful of primary judge rankings/write-ups.

I don't have all of the necessary rankings yet to reveal a single category, however.

I've got a chaotic work schedule all week but can be set to do a bunch of reveals this weekend.

The first category to be revealed will be BEST MOVIE YEAR. xander is the primary on this one.

Looking at everything in this category is intractable, so I’m leaning on what I know for more familiar years. There are some recent times that have done well on quantity of Stuff and furthering established franchises, but imo they can’t quite reach the classics. ‘07 seems real lean compared to those. 1980 has a decent list but as a year it was rough on the industry.

6) 1980 – Raging Bull, The Shining, Caddyshack
7) 1967 – The Dirty Dozen, Great Escape, Cool Hand Luke
8) 1975 – Monty Python, Dog Day Afternoon
9) 2007 – No Country for Old Men, Zodiac, I Am Legend, In Bruges, there Will Be Blood
10) 1987 – Lethal Weapon, RobOCop, Fatal Attraction, Princess Bride

Judged this fairly equally by quality at the top and by depth of quality. Off the top of my head, 1985 would've had a decent shot at a podium with Back to the Future, Goonies and Breakfast Club at the top (and Brewster's Millions and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome for depth).

11	1957	eyebooger	xander will be able to give this a fairer judging. Haven't seen any of those aside from 12 Angry Men and BotRK.
10	2007	Carl_Spackler	No Country and Ocean's 13 are the only movies I really consider among my favourites here.
9	2002	Eric	A lot of good movies here, but hardly any great ones. Chamber of Secrets was my least favourite of the Harry Potter movies.
8	1967	bolt2112	Great quality at the top, the first four movies and Cool Hand Luke are all great, but I don't see much else there.
7	1975	filthyvermin	Basically the same story as 1967, but the top movies are all better. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of my all-time favourites.
6	1982	iraisetoomuch	Getting into the really good years for me. ET/Blade Runner/48 HRS./Fast Times is a killer combo, with Rocky III and Wrath of Khan both ranking super high on my personal favourites. Another half dozen movies there I like quite a bit.
5	1984	JMurder3	Virtually no distance between this and 1982. Beverly Hills Cop/Ghostbusters/Temple of Doom/Search for Spock just ever so slightly more rewatchable for me.
4	1999	D1iabol1cal	Another hard decision between this and the next one for third place. I didn't quite like the top movies as much, and that made the difference. Still a terrific year. Dogma is probably my favourite Kevin Smith movie.
3	1994	aaronk56	Powerhouse at the top with Pulp Fiction, Shawshank and Lion King, and a lot of depth as well with easy rewatches like The Mask, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Speed. Reality Bites, Quiz Show and Hoop Dreams also strong contributors.
2	1980	CrimsonFox	Brilliant year. Empire Strikes Back shoots it right up near the top off the bat. Raging Bull is a classic. I'm not a fan of horror films, but The Shining is one of the few I'll rewatch. Throw in Caddyshack, Airplane and Blues Brothers and this is a worthy runner up.
1	1987	Nicholasp27	Princess Bride? You win.

In court today, but will try to finish judging this afternoon & maybe even put up another round of Chameleon later.

I'm having some technical difficulties with the final reveal on movie years, but have sent a PM to xander to get his write-up straightened out. This category should be revealed in all of its glory in a short while.

Oh I kinda forgot to put some finishing touches/writeups but I have everything judged I think, I can still send it if you want?

I just sent everything except Best Other Category which I can rank and send tomorrow.

I'm off to a rocky start, to say the least. I went with quality over quantity on my movie year, but Cool Hand Luke just isn't enough to carry an otherwise lackluster choice.

My very hazy memory suggests that I picked movies late into the draft so I'm quite pleased with my performance so far.
