The person who is "it" will post an image from Google Streetview. The first person to correctly name the city will earn one point and will become "it". A bonus point will be awarded if they also name the exact location in the city. (The bonus point is not available if one or more street names are visible within the image itself.)
Winning the Game:
No one will officially keep track of the score, the game will never officially end, and no one will win.
The Rules:
The images posted must be screenshots from Google Streetview. The objective is generally to show a typical streetscape from the chosen city rather than to focus on landmarks. There is no restriction against editing the images in a program such as Paint to blot out things such as street signs or store names, nor is there any requirement to do so. Images will need to at least be cropped or edited a bit to hide the parts in the corners where Google shows part of the map and the street address. Screenshots can be created by hitting the Print Screen button, pasting the image into your favorite program, cropping and editing the image as needed, exporting it as a jpeg file, and uploading it to a site such as imgur.com.
By default, there is NO RESEARCH ALLOWED.
Each player is allowed ONE guess.
The person who is "it" may, at their discretion, post additional screenshots from the same city, offer hints, or declare that research is allowed. Each time one of these actions is taken, all previous guesses are voided and each player may make ONE additional guess. At no time may a player make two guesses at the same time, even if they missed the opportunity to guess prior to the additional hints being given.
At any point in the game, the players may elect to enact the "mob rule" provision, which allows them to communally replace the "it" person with someone else if they are unhappy with the pace of the game.
There are a couple of street signs that have not been blurred out but they are not clear enough to read. Think that it is not the Cyrillic alphabet though...
