I'm surprised the fact Peru is being lauded for serving Guinea Pig hasn't caught more flak.

i didn't make that post for you

i've never been to china. i'd guess that chinatown in sf has some food that is fairly close to what you'll get in china. lots of people in chinatown don't speak english. it's a pretty chinese community. food their is disgusting.

i've eaten fancy chinese dinners with shark fin soup. i didn't like them. i thought ****ty kung pao chicken type of food was better than the fancy chinese stuff i had at different wedding rehearsal dinners for millionaires.
Sorry, I didn't realize you'd had Chinese food in a neighborhood where lots of people don't speak English

my bad bro

My dad travels to China/another territory which I'm not sure is separately draftable or not for business pretty often & is so put off by the food that his favorite place to eat is an [UNDRAFTED] pub. I'm pretty sure that's a my dad issue tho.

I don't care where the good General is from as long as he keeps making that sweet chicken of his.

He has clearly never had Pork Pump at a suitable Chinese restaurant in Monterey Park, CA.

They pump it full of porky goodness with a bicycle pump. Delectably tender.

bicycle pump is always great in any food prep

India at #8 prolly the best value of the first round and I would have taken China at #1 also, however the joy of Thai/Singaporean cuisine is that they combine so many elements from other cultures as well as having their own signature dishes so there's a lot of value there.

That said, Durian is horrible and it stinks.

A mouthwatering draft so far!

India would be my number one because I'm a vegetarian. I certainly wouldn't have taken China because it's so awful for veggies and because it has no great tradition of bread and pastries, pork buns aside.

I'm not sure about Singapore. The food is great but is it a cuisine as such?

It is definitely a cuisine imo. I'll let you know for sure after I'm there for a couple of days in mid-August.

In the signup thread I said that the Round 2 clock won't start for anyone until noon Wednesday so that the holiday wouldn't pressure anyone too much, and we'll stick with that.

Oh, it's a great place for food, no doubt.

I followed a couple of links from that. Hainanese chicken rice sounds like a chicken tikka masala sort of deal: an "ethnic" dish that was actually invented in a new country. Fair enough.

Filthy has already won. USA shouldn't have even been allowed.

It gets a lot of hate but the US does have a notable cuisine, the outcome of a melding of many peasant cuisines and fusion in haute cuisine.

And let's face it, Spain's idea of dessert is creme caramel, while the States has funnel cakes and apple pie with ice cream.

not sure if you're trolling or serious, but this is true.

california on it's own would be a first round pick, maybe even first pick over all. wine, produce, seafood, beef, cheese, world famous chefs, mexican food(maybe better than mexico), chinese food(maybe better than china, japanese, thai, vietnamese, indian.

then throw in the south, new york, hawaii, florida, maine, chicago. i mean for ****'s sake, new mexico alone has it's own distinct food that is world class, new orleans, etc etc....

jingoism and exaggeration aside

I don't see how people are rating a good BBQ and pie a la mode last of all countries taken so far

Also, USA was a horrible pick, but not for the reasons others are saying. WN was offering to trade up at the time. filthy could have still picked USA at #8 and be picking right now.

anyway, a first round pick isn't truly terrible unless you can get some guy from out of the woodwork who's been a member of 2p2 for like 10 years to log in and make his 3rd post an epic rant about how awful your pick is
