A pro-tip on taking a stand on principals (that would also apply to people like WN, soah, VR, etc.) is that you have no credibility when you've already expressed the exact opposite of those principals by participating.

And VR, whom it must be stated I respect and like very much, going on about porn stars and wet t-shirt contests was ridiculous. Timelady ran the contest for at least 2 years, and this is my second year making the OP. In those threads it says, "This is Miss POG, not Miss Porn Star." Ironically the only year that has not been in the OP was when Crossnerd ran the nomination thread. I personally consider every facet of a woman to be a factor, although I can't speak for all participants.

Is there anyone with any shred of credibility who wants to take a stab at why the thread is a problem? Because the rest of these guys & gals are failing pretty hard. Although I admit, it's hard to tell they're failing since they're all patting each other on the back for being so courageous.

The porn star comments and a comparison to a wet t shirt contest are so absurd to say. I mean does anyone else feel that way?

Accusations of hypocrisy are lazy and boring, but I'm not sure I've ever participated in Ms. POG. I'm not sure I absolutely haven't either, but I am sure my participation must be pretty minimal.

Yes, no one is going to change their minds on Ms POG either, not in this thread, at least (irtm is correct there) but this thread is not so much a discussion thread, but rather an opinion gathering one.

ACTUALLY, the lazy thing is you not spending 30 seconds to check to see if you've participated (yes, a lot of nominations!).

I don't see why that should matter to you though. I learn things there from other people. I am not the only one. Maybe it doesn't seem like opinions change but people still do learn. That isn't really a bad thing. I understand that it gets emotional and rigid but that is the nature of it but that is psychological..

Again, I think that the arguments for not abolishing Ms POG are strong enough that there is no need to take shots at people.

Yeah, it is weird that several people changed their mind so quickly, and it leaves me a bit nonplussed, but in the end, does it really matter?

also, i'm sure many people treat miss pog as a game fwiw. voting with the person or group of people that show the most WIM/make the best argument for their nominee instead of purely on looks
