That would be because drama attracts people. I think this is obvious to you and you are arguing in bad faith.

Not really. i think you argued in bad faith when you used who posted in the other thread. Cause a lot of pog posters posted to say they dont want it ran

i dont even think you are interested in the contest, i think you just get involved to oppose cross

really person of the year is the perfect compromise to me, you can celebrate all achievements including beauty of both women and men

you will have all the discussion you currently have + more

It doesn't take rocket appliances to know that

I did not use the "who posted" feature. I posted a list of people who voted in this year's contest, because you said that most of the participants weren't POG regulars.

Except I did not start arguing with her when she first brought the issue in another thread. When she specifically asked about my Emily Blunt vote, I did not even take the time to disagree with her. Instead, I wrote this:

I do not take this contest too seriously; my idea is just to nominate women I find attractive.

If you want to take a different route, that is cool as well.
which is as non-confrontational as it comes.

When a mod opens a topic in which he argues that the contest should be banned, I, of course, react differently, because that is different from her expressing a dissenting opinion in the game thread.

Since she is the most vocal champion of the ban Miss POG cause, she is the one I argued the most with. But, again, I always kept it polite and respectful.

So, once again, you are completely wrong.

sorry. i really didn't mean any disrespect. i personally don't place much value in grammar or spelling or punctuation or formal education. i was just curious about your language. i like language a lot
English is my first language. I speak Spanish and Portuguese semi decently. I studied linguistics where all my professors were Bantuists so I have a decent amount of experience with a few obscure Bantu languages of western Kenya. I dated a Kenyan girl who spoke Swahili (she was Kikuyu but didn't speak it although her parents did) and most recently I baby sat a 3 year Brazilian girl who spoke almost no English so that was good for the Portuguese.

this is a lot of words to say nothing to me. you obviously target her in issues. its silly to pretend otherwise and we both know you dont care about the contest, so just yawnnn
02-06-2017 , 03:03 AM
Sigh. Once again, you are the master of alternative facts.
02-06-2017 , 03:03 AM
i dont see an objection to changing Ms Pog to a Person of the year contest?

They were not joke entries.

The fact that you think they were merely proves my point in all this.

it would be a crime to derail this wonderful thread of insightful posts. so please post in the pub if you have any interesting thoughts/stories about languages, especially the african ones.

we talked about it last night in the pub. i liked it. but probably it was pretty boring to most people

We both know no action will be taken.

Which is fine. You can see what I think.

The hilarious thing is that you and Domer think you're somehow going to make me feel bad for aging. Lol! Oh no, aging! Nobody does that!

Unless your point was women "go bad" after a certain age, which would be one of the most sexist things yet said in this thread. And that, my bold little internet tough guy, is quite the feat.

Try again, benneh.
Could you show us where this happened? I'm genuinely curious. A quick skim shows one person saying they won't nominate someone unattractive to them as the "inbetween". That's it. Maybe I missed it? I am pretty tired atm.

A porn star was nominated after that

Do I really have to make an MQ of all the posts in this thread that argue the contest is ok as is? This isn't a ww game, insanity.
02-06-2017 , 03:43 AM
Sometimes you have to make compromises. Losing Ms pog or changing it to person of the year, is not really a big thing to happen to make people feel like POG is progressing to something more inclusive

people didn't go wild when she nominated some fat chick, so shut it down ldo

nevermind the fact that it's never been a straight beauty contest ... i mean Anna Kendrick won in the past ffs

It says in domers OP to not even nominate porn stars to not turn it into Miss Porn Star

I forgot how amusing you guys are. Such drama over something so trivial.

Crossnerd, you used to be ok with it, you changed your mind and want to change other peoples mind - good for you, this is how progress is made.

You have now tried to change peoples opinions by force (asking for it to be removed/threatening to quit) and that is not the way to make progress.

Miss POG is a voting game, if you and all the people who agree with you nominate and vote for the women you want then you change the game from the inside. If the majority are not willing to vote with you then the forum is not ready yet for the changes you want. That doesn't mean you should give up or start attacking people or resorting to threats etc, it just means you need to work harder.

Someone one said "be the change you want to see in the world", something to think about.
02-06-2017 , 03:48 AM
weird diceman, not sure how anything is being done by force when we have a 7 page thread started by a moderator

Monkey started the thread, and I have the most posts. You along with many other people have singled her out.

Nah, I'm talking about the other thread and no one actually having a problem with your nominations. I thought that was pretty clear. Benneh asked why your position changed, you gave an answer, then I questioned the validity of your answer. It's all in the post you just responded to.
02-06-2017 , 03:52 AM
Diceman, I haven't been attacking anyone and I haven't made any threats.

The only people making attacks and threats are the people threatened by a discussion thread. I didn't ask for this thread to be made, and I didn't ask for Miss Pog to be banned. I made the perfectly reasonable request that we forego sexist content on this forum.

And if I choose to leave, it will not be "giving up".
