I care about hurting VR and Crossnerd, but I'm not sure how my feelings about hurting yours are at all relevant in this instance, considering we're both men and neither has any frame of reference for how any female members of POG actually feel about this.

I don't care what y'all do with your Miss POG. I only participated at all because I was interested in xn's protest & thought it would be interesting to discuss the merits of some celebrities' social accomplishments, but then I got tired of that task as I'm not sure if those posts came off as sarcastic or not as I wasn't really sure what my goal was.

I don't think people are sexist just because they want to vote on some women (although obviously some who do so are going to be), & whether there's a Miss POG or not isn't going to change society's paternalistic bent & the pervasive objectification of women.

I used to run the Hottest 4Life male & female contests for a couple years back when there were women on the internet (like 2010?), which were contests with actual posters who chose to enter. Not sure if those were bad? The men & women who were being judged on their looks were doing so of their own volition.

Regardless, time moves on & if things need to be done to counteract a Trump presidency to show that POG is better than that, so be it. You can still go to OOT for that stuff.

I do think it's tough for a moderator to fairly & impartially moderate a poster with diametrically opposite viewpoints from them, though, & I would think monkey would be better served having gambit or someone be the final arbiter of justice for dissenters. Even if he is in the end correct, it sends the wrong message in regard to the requested open & honest dialogue.

Short answer is that I'm not a rules person. Long answer involves the absolute existence of a problem whether it's swept under a rug or not. I don't think polarizing such an issue to sides is ideal. Those opposed to my opinion aren't old religious ****s who are apt to die without furthering the damage they've done. They're active members of multiple communities, this one included. Teaching will do more good than putting up a small wall and making a martyr out of something they think is acceptable and all in good fun. IMO, anyway
