What do you think? We could try for something unrelated to try to hit ours...or we could go extra safe and guess one of their words and just try to end our turn

I don't hate the idea of guessing Lap. it should be their, so it's safe from being the assassin.
But at the same time, he should have had some sort of plan for us guessing similar words that aren't our, but yet still aren't the assassin.

I kinda want to guess march. It feels like it's similar enough that he wouldn't have missed it it was the assassin. And probably isn't theirs?

My only concern is that if it is theirs that would be a relative disaster - if we give them a word they haven't been clued for that would really suck

And we're probably not gonna bink 2 of ours

While if we guess something they're firing anyway like Atlantis then they still need to clue for all their new words and figure out how to close out next turn

I'm never guessing Atlantis. I'm only (sort of) ok with guessing a word that is lockish for them since that has a low chance of affecting their win chances.

I'd still prefer March over those, doesn't seem connected to their words. And seems close enough to charge that it shouldn't be bad.

My thinking is they have 3 on deck that seem solid, and they likely need to be clued for another 3. March is a complete unknown, but if it happens to be theirs then they only need to be clued for a much much easier 2, which would be a pretty bad outcome for us.

And there's basically no upside to guessing just one of our words right anyway, we just need to end our turn without giving them more info
