Ivory is a famous soap brand in the US - mostly famous for bar soap but I think they make laundry detergent as well.

Even if Ivory doesn't make laundry detergent, I'm nearly certain JM3 would spot it as a danger word. Should be neutral at worst.

I did consider tie as well. Possible

If that's right then I think tie and spot are pretty much a flip after that because we would probably get the same clue for either word.

True. Spot's equity might be increased a small amount by the fact that I don't really think of ties as part of the laundry chore, because I always get them dry cleaned.

Tie is a harder word to miss, so I imagine it's probably neutral at worst, but spot is a crappy word in general and that seems like a pretty good clue to get rid of it.

Well, the ones we mentioned were witch, moon, fair, life, worm, poison, and cross. The first three are out and we have three left on the clue.

Why would he say Halloween if he just wanted a religious connection? He could’ve said Wicca and led us there. Or simply Religion. But he went with Halloween. Not seriously considering scary- or candy-related words seems wrong here.

I’m not even sure how life connects to a religious angle. And I don’t know eb’s clueing style enough to know if he would use a word (Halloween) that clues the opposite of the word (Death) that he wants us to pick (Life).
