Eliminator Walrus Vol 2 Eliminator Walrus Vol 2

I know a lot about Jimmy Page. I don't know a lot about Battles. It's not fair for me to punish someone for submitting a song by the Yardbirds and it's not realistic for me to cross reference every song submitted to find out if a member of Battles is on the track.

Should we explain the timeline/artist or just send the link ?

Just the link is fine. I'll message you if I can't figure it out.

For the record, Juice WRLD and Daft Punk are ineligible in this and any round. The whole "featuring" thing is irrelevant.

Got category fit on lock down

Just hope that you like it...

For round two, the song I was thinking of was Sound of Silence. Either the original or the recent Disturbed cover would have landed at the top for me. The Disturbed version really leans into the build of the song. It's just one of the greatest songs of all time, and I thought someone would have gone for it.

My father in law just showed me that song recently. You’re right, it would have fit well.

(To clarify, not mad, just want to throw toys out of the pram because this is the best song for this category by foo fighters)
Nah, Let It Die is much better.

I tried listening to a couple and gave up when 2 minutes later the song still hadn't started yet, lol.

Atlas is far from the "type" of song that I typically enjoy listening to. If you came up with some kind of formula to predict what music I'd like, based on that song alone, you'd end up with a lot of songs I couldn't stand.

Today's reveal will cover side projects. There are no good gifs about side projects, so here's a little celebration of all things side.

Here's inside.

And outside.

Here's the dark side.

And some side boob.

We'll get this started by revealing the Safest Safe Song of the Week!

Previous winners are Treep (Linkin Park's 'Given Up') and Nich (Weezer's 'Say It Ain't So').

I've heard of this side project before, but never listened to much of their music. But I did listen to the lead singer's main project quite a lot, including one of their albums on replay for an 11 hour road trip from Denver to Vegas one summer. It took me about 3 seconds to send this submission straight to the safe zone.

Spoiler:
Eleanor cruises into round 4 with 'Such Great Heights' by The Postal Service.

I'll make sure to include information about the "main project" is of each one member of each submitted song. This one features Ben Gibbard on vocals, who is best known from Death Cab For Cutie.

This was just a taste. I'll be doing the rest of the reveals later today. Possibly this afternoon.

I am obligated to share that you guys knocked this category out of the park. I liked every single song that was submitted. None of you should feel safe.

Came close to submitting a different Postal Service song that would have been similarly safe

Probably should have

These are all safe.

Spoiler:
Outdrawed submitted 'Vaporize' by Broken Bells.

James Mercer is a regular member of The Shins.

Spoiler:
Gadarene submitted 'Our Love' by Rhett Miller.

Rhett Miller is a regular member of the Old 97's.

Spoiler:
Nich submitted 'Reconstructive Demonstrations' by Serj Tankian.

Serj Tankian is a regular member of System of a Down.

Spoiler:
Eric submitted 'Sword and Stone' by Paul Dean.

Paul Dean is a regular member of Loverboy.

Spoiler:
Eric Clipperton submitted 'The Dutchman' by Liam Clancy.

Liam Clancy is a regular member of The Clancy Brothers.

Spoiler:
bloobird submitted 'Silver Moons' by Sunset Rubdown.

The vocals on this one are hypnotic.

Spencer Krug is a regular member of Wolf Parade.

Spoiler:
UglyDelicious submitted 'Temazcal' by Monsters of Folk.

This is a supergroup and I think every member has a regular gig. One of them is M Ward, whose voice is an automatic ticket to the next round.

This leaves reveals for bwslim, D1, Donk, Karma, Prip, rickroll, Treep, and xander still remaining. 3 are podium. 3 are nodium. 2 are neither podium nor nodium.

I'm heading out for a socially distant social event with a friend who I haven't seen since March. The rest of the reveals will be late this afternoon or early this evening.
