Meh, next year's draft class is likely to be significantly deeper than this year's. As I say, if it wasn't for the fact that they were future picks I think it would be bad for you. The fact there's a season to play before the pick is worth anything tangible makes it fine though.

don't know what I did or did not say, but:

1) I tried to get a first for Steve Smith (CAR) last year in my main league and found no interest whatsoever.
2) Personally, I wouldn't give a first for Steve Smith (CAR) or Ochocinco unless I had a team that was a solid contender and felt that adding them would push me over the top (and also was reassured that the first was going to be a late pick). Even that theoretical situation, I'd be hesitant.

I think I told OTI that I thought he got a good deal but sleeping on it I think MM came out ahead. I still think it makes sense for OTI, but I was definitely wishing I'd bent a bit more to ship him Housh or Santana Moss in a similar deal.

Seriously though while I think Sam is a better QB than Clausen, old Jimmy will live a long and prosperous life behind that o-line and Sammy may be done for good after three games. I hope I'm wrong because I need to post some lol-you-suck-at-understanding-QBs in SE because people are just dumb with regards to the whole "system QB" issue and I'm convinced most people didn't watch many games of either QB because some of the points brought up against Sam are simply lol-worthy (i.e. he took a good bunch of snaps from under center; his arm is pretty good)

My team wouldn't be so terrible, and setup well for the future, if my WR's weren't god awful.

I need Smith-NYG to get within 10% of last season and need one of my other WR to step up besides Fitz.
I think Bowe or one of the SD guys is going to do that (Garcon+Edwards to a lesser degree). I have some hope for Schilens but injury issues may mean he's pretty much done

Schaub needs to stay healthy, I'm sure my WR will contribute and I'm confident that if Vernon doesn't have a good year Keller may break out this year (Rex already called it)

can't be ideal. I take it the slots are freed up again if said players are cut? If he somehow picks them back up again he can't reput them on IR, right?

Assuming you cut someone you put on IR. This frees your IR slot? If you repick them up later are they automatically put on IR again?

A player on IR is there for the whole year. If cut, and someone else picks him up, he goes onto their IR.

Yeah this is why I was saying there's no reason not to put someone on IR if their team has placed them on IR. If they're not someone worth rostering you just cut them if you need the IR slot, otherwise you just get to hold onto them for a while longer.

Got it but...wouldn't that mean it makes sense to put anyone you want to cut who has some minor injury on IR before cutting them so noone else can use them for the year?
That doesn't feel right (would make more sense to me if each team had their own IR)

As far as IR goes I think we made a stipulation last year that the player has to have a serious injury that causes them to miss several games.

That way people can't just use it as extra roster spots.
