Trade done...strange bug or maybe a feature...your preselected picks get removed when you trade up. I kind of expected them just to be carried through to that pick but I guess they are somehow locked with the draft pick which I no longer own.

I picked Kenny Stills (per my post in the thread because it locks you out after your timer expires) but it looks like Blah Blah Meow Chow just tried to pick him a few picks ago. Can you fix this OTI?

I don't quite think it's cool that i wound up getting screwed as a result of several other peoples mistakes.

A guy who i'd already picked, is now gone due to these retroactive resets.

But whatever, it's not that big a deal regarding the specific player, i just think we need some hard rules in place then, in situations like these

The hard rules are check the thread before you make your pick if there are people who were skipped. I was busy this weekend and couldnt babysit. Bird failed by not contacting me as well as posting his pick, j.d failed by not checking the thread and Chris you failed by continuing to draft even though there was clearly an issue. And if you didn't see the issue you failed by not checking the thread too.

Chris did you actually get screwed? Are you certain j.d. wouldnt have taken him there without you taking him first? The answer is likely no. Come up with a rule that makes sense if you want to fix it but I think it would be better if everyone just used a little common sense when I'm not around.

As a side note this is a late 4th round pick you are whining about. LOL

Are you really going to argue that us continuing the draft after letting the clock run as long as possible, is a fail? That is somewhat bizarre! I am just arguing for a standard rule here, even if it's doing what was done this time. I'm not coming at you OTI, but i did use a good amount if time deliberating the pick, so obviously this situation is annoying, and getting the short end because other people fail to react within the set timeframe just does suck.

I'm not doubting j.d would've taken goodwin there and as you so classy point out, it's a 4th round pick so whatever. I'm just not fond of these decisions made on a whim when they happen, stuff like this will come up and so be it, but lets make unbiased decisions instead of just doing what's convenient

I don't think it's out of line to set a precedent here. If this happens should the people who fail to pick in time have to pick someone else, or should the one who fails to see that a pick was made in the thread(or should it be reset like this time) personally i vote for solition #2

I think what happened is...timer expired, dude with timer expired (JD) picked a guy that was already taken. Draft went on, chris picked some guy (Goodwin)...it was recognized that JD picked a guy already taken and reset to JD who then picked Goodwin. That right?

If so I think we should pause the draft and vote on this. It kind of feels like chris should get his pick and JD should be moved down to chris' pick. Sure ideally the next guy picking after JD should have recognized something was wrong and shouted "FATAL ERROR ZOMG" but it feels pretty wrong to punish chris.

tl;dr: treat picking a guy that is already taken after your timer expired as a nopick..basically treat it as if the timer was still expired. Yes this isn't ideal because people can just draft on and never tell JD and he'd be screwed but it's better than punishing someone else who didn't really make a mistake (because I don't expect to be responsible for making sure everyone else submits valid picks)

Someone let pick expire, posted in thread what they wanted.

Next person picked the person that was posted in thread.

Chris picked someone else.

Draft got entirely reverted and person A was given the player picked in thread.

Person B picked the person Chris picked.

Yes, Birdman had picked Kenny Stills in the thread, a couple of days later JD picked him in the actual draft which birdman pointed out. Then sooted picked and i picked(Goodwin) whereafter the cancellation of the previous picks happened. Yesterday i noted to sooted that his pick had expired and i wanted to wait to pick as my deadline was coming up too. At that point, the issue from earlier had left my mind so i didn't think about not urging sooted to pick or picking myself.

I think it's just an unfortunate situation that may arise from time to time so finding some sort of template for a solution is a good idea. I'll just pick another player, the player itself isn't a big deal and i was contemplating a couple of other guys as well anyways. I just didn't like that my pick was retroactively taken away without as much of a discussion about it, especially when i was the one that had correctly followed the process that we have set up and followed, and to be honest it bummes me out OTI, that you answer with that mix of derogatory and ignorance, that's just puzzling. I know you're more than smart enough to realize that the issue was about the situation and not the specific pick. Process not results. I don't think it's out of line to raise the issue when i was the one being punished for doing things as we've set it up to do them.

If one pick is invalid the draft continuing after it is also invalid. I agree that we should have a consensus but I did what makes sense so lets go ahead and vote on it. Why should the person who made the invalid pick be punished if everyone after him should also be in a situation to realize that his pick was invalid? I think he rule should be draft restarts at the invalid pick.

Obviously the person who made the invalid pick should be punished because they made an invalid pick.

It's no different than someone being skipped. Not like the whole draft should stall.

If someone makes an invalid pick they can repick of any valid option whenever they decide to.

That would become a problem when people set up lists. For example, someone post a pick in the thread, but it will not take that pick off of their list.
