So I was forced to work late and couldn't set my lineup. Normally I wouldn't ask for leniency but I have only ONE kicker and ONE defense on my roster so those were clearly going to be my starters. Can I have the commish put them in my starting lineup?

Doesn't the system autoset your lineup from last week in this league? Or maybe I just activated that option somewhere?

I mean you have a whole week to set the lineup, nothing prevents you from setting a quick one and then finetuneing it later.

He picked up a new defense and kicker so he only had between the time waivers went through to kickoff last night to submit his lineup.

As for the time he had to put them in, 21 hours is not a long time imo. Our waivers go through relatively late and with Thursday games every week it creates a very limited time frame to submit your lineup with waiver pickups. He texted you after the game had started, which normally would not be acceptable but his intentions were clear in this case. He had no opportunity for any kind of freeroll.

If we allowed pickups after the Thursday games this would be a no brainer. If he had any other option, it's a no brainer. In this case, I'd allow it and give him a warning. If it happens again he's not getting a pass.

And it makes the most sense to me.

Gonna put those players into his lineup.

Fair point but it's not like the DEF or K he dropped has a bye or anything. And he's only carrying one of each...I mean I meant to put in a waiver wire request for Hasselbeck and missed the deadline. That's my fault and I have to live with it.

I'm also usually long asleep when late games kick off so I feel it's pretty unfair that someone gets credit for making a call at that time.

If he had another defense, obviously it could not be put in. So since it's a situation where we can't universally employ a 'no biggie' policy, I don't think it's fair for him to get an advantage just because he had no depth at those positions.

Also I don't see the time argument given that he had the rams. He had to know that they were playing 21 hours after the waiver wire went through, so he should have been able to put them in his lineup.

Basically I know that I would never get that sort of mercy because of the structure of my team, so don't think it's fair for someone else to get it.

We pay 70 bucks a year to have a site that manages everything for us so that we don't have to make subjective calls like this.

Not to mention that it is not exactly a secret that birdman has been known to miss deadlines, if anybody remembers the drafts.

Change the settings now so that the rosters lock when the first games kicks off on Sunday and allow Birdman to choose another K and D-ST from the wire imo.

Lots of understandable hesitation to changing rules in season. Clearly against bylaws.

Obviously everyone would be able to change their line-ups, not just Birdman.

I understand you not wanting to change a rule mid-season but having the rosters lock on Thursday is such high-variance and I feel like that goes against the spirit of a Dynasty League.

I think making a one-time exception will definitely bring up further arguments this season when something like this happens again.

Anyways I'm a Fantasy addict and that's my unbiased 2c on this situ.

In the off season, Im all game to change it. It has affected my team so much already that I will not vote to change it in the middle of the season.
