It's not an indictment of you as much as it is of the rest of these clowns who bitched about there being a musical category while leaving the GOAT undrafted.

6.5
Glad you liked it.

I can understand your criticisms, but I just look at this movie as the Eric Bana show. He is so terrific in this and it's so entertaining that I can overlook any sort of structural issues. It's not trying to be Citizen Kane.

It's by the same writer/director as Assassination of Jesse James btw (Andrew Dominik), which is also great. Surprised we haven't heard much more from him.

Saw Religulous in April and thought it was great. Believe it or not, it's my first experience with Bill Maher and I think he's really witty. I love how far he was willing to go with some people. Jesus at the theme park answered his questions the best by a long way. Favourite moment was the sound effects added to the old Jewish man scene.

I'm surprised that you have never seen Ben Hur or Spaceballs.

When people find out that I watch a lot of movies they are usually surprised to find a lot of classics that I've never seen. I've not seen them for the following reasons:

- If I think my wife would like to see a movie too then I'll wait and watch it with her
- Sometimes I'm not guaranteed a disruption free length of time to watch a movie.
- You can only see great movies for the first time once and I kinda like hoarding a bunch of good ones for a rainy day

So I saw Hoop Dreams a couple of days ago and I totally get what all the fuss is about. It's heartbreaking and really revealing what these and many other guys must go through. The reason I only gave it a 6 is because I don't follow basketball and I kinda already knew the injustices that were going on. But again, I totally get why someone who follows basketball would absolutely love this movie.
