Nich with Half-Life: Alyx



I never got into Half-Life growing up, unfortunately, and adding to this is that this is a Virtual Reality game. I'll pass on the travel sickness. The game looks interesting, and playing in VR is probably cool for most people, but I can't play it.

I actually haven't played any of these games on console so I thought to myself that I would watch streams of them on Twitch, look into the lore and see how they go, and rank in order of how much I would want to play them.

And, to be honest, it seems to have been a good idea. The problem with this game though is I just don't get it. The gameplay looks boring, the story looks boring, and I think that I would play it once then give up on it after a short time because it doesn't get my attention.

Well, this is different. A game without combat? It's piqued my attention. It looks interesting on Twitch and the storyline looks to be good as well. One to pick up in the future I think. Cheers for drafting this, the aim was for me to get some new games!

Bloobird with Hades



Now only a few people know this but I used to love dungeon crawlers...well in fact I still do, albeit more the board game type ala Gloomhaven. However I still play Path of Exile and many a day was wasted when I was younger playing Diablo, but I always lamented the lack of a decent storyline.

Hades, however, seems to have a storyline, therefore I shall probably give it a shot!

Doctor Zeus with Civilization VI



Unlike the Half-Life VR game above, this one actually is on the PS4, and whilst I havent played it on the PS4, I have played it on the PC.

This game is amazing. Its tactical, it's complicated, it keeps you thinking - it makes you lose track of time without realising it and thats what I want in my games, a good story or good mechanics where I can just get lost in the game, look up, and realise I've spent the whole day playing it. This gives me that, and when I saw it drafted I knew it was going to be up there!

D1abol1cal with Red Dead Redemption 2



I had to go back and check because the spreadsheet says RDR and I distinctly remembered the pick being RDR2. Trust me, it matters.

This is the best open world game, period. Add into it that it comes with a solid story and, yeah, I'd recommend this to anybody - even without not playing it myself yet. The only reason I dont have this already is that I dont have the time at the moment to do it justice. Once I do, its time to take some personal time from work and delve into this, it'll take a few months!

This game came out in 2018 and has stood the test of time - you look at it and it looks new today. Honestly this is one of the best picks of the draft, never mind the category. Fits perfectly what I wanted and is a deserved winner.
