Re: Cribbage - Strategy

I got the app but my attempts to login in have failed.

I will try again when I’m so busy with work travel.

Any android/iOS app where you can play bluetooth against each other? Need something to play vs my wife on airplane.

Really good app. Still get the people that expect you to play lightning fast and won’t play you unless you have a high level. But nowhere near as bad as playing hearts on yahoo back in the day.

No idea, but why not play the old fashioned way? Crazy thought, I know.

I love the time limits. I'd do 5 seconds if they let me. You can set/only play whatever limit you prefer fyi.

People are too hung up on ratings. Thankfully, most don't care.

I don’t mind the time limits. Just the people that get cranky if you don’t do everything in 1 second.

Its more difficult dealing and holding cards when sitting beside each other. And shuffling noise, pegging counting etc. Doable, but bluetooth app is preferable. Save the old fashioned way for the hotel room.

I'm with ya, that's why I disable chat when I set up games vs randoms.

Re: Cribbage - Strategy

I’m batting just under .500 but I’m really getting whipped on the cut for dealer. at or below .25

I believe the first deal gives about a .55-.45 advantage.

Re: Cribbage - Strategy

http://blog.cribbagepro.net/2012/10/...stics.html?m=1

Someplace else I can’t find listed 60% of games are more or less split evenly by blowout. Of the remaining 40% an expert will be a novice at. 75-80% clip.

So all
Things being equal, the top performance is on the order of low 60s percent.

I ran high 50s on yahoo. I saw some high 60s but assume that was some shenanigans with selective “disconnects” that counted as wins for the remaining player but not losses for the leaving player.

I think my level of play drops due to trying to play so fast. Too bad because in real life it’s a great social game. Luck is a big enough component that new players have pretty decent success (try being a novice pinochle player).

I absolutely need to slow down for at least an extra second or two. I've made some really dumb mistakes just due to reacting before thinking.

IRL this isn't really an issue, most likely due to the social aspect.

I love this game!

Scored 0 on the first hand of a game. No pegging. Nineteen hand.

Re: Cribbage - Strategy

I once played a game where my opponent got five zero cribs in a row. It was known as The Steve after that.
