Schwing. My Dad has probably played over 50,000 live games and had 1 28 hand. My Mom got a 29 against him in their 70s. Hi is almost 90. I told him that he will go this way:

1. He will be dealer
2. It’s late in the game
3. He will get a 29 hand
4. His opponent will go out before he gets to count
5. His heart goes and that’s it

Morbid , but he laughed. Also called me a smartass.

OMG that would be so brutal haha.

I've had a few 28s live, no 29s. Only 2 29s in my life, both on the app vs the cpu.

I’ve seen 3 28s. All on the same Xmas break when I was in JR high. It was weird. No 29s. I’ve had neither.

All of my poker royals (2 or 3?) came with in a couple of month period.

This may be an easy one, but you're leading 46-28. Pone with 59910JQ. WWYD?

Leaning Q9o, without an in-depth look at cut cards. That and 99 will net 7 points, whereas Q5 nets 6. Q5 probably doean't lead to a big score for the dealer, whereas 99 might. Q9 doesn't.

Q9 just split the suits. You have blockers for that to fill in and you are holding 7, giving up 1 off the max.

Up 94-83, pone with 5789JQ.

I'm shipping the JQ to the dealer. 5, 7, 8, 9 is a fine hand to play for myself, and giving the 7 to the dealer in order to keep my flush is dangerous.

We need 27, the opponent needs 38. The opponent will need to average just over 10 points per hand scored for three hands and ~7 points pegging. If we succeed in stopping that, we need to average just over 7 points per hand for three hands and ~7 points pegging.

For our scoring, we should be able to do it, as long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot.

For the opponent, we don't have a lot of control, but usually she won't make it, even though she often will.

It looks like tossing Q7 is best to keep the crib to a manageable score, and leaves us with 6 points with much potential. I won't work out the EVs this time, but others feel free to do so.

Tl;dr We ain't winning on this hand, so best we can do is try to keep the crib low.

I’d lean toward the Q7>QJ here. We have blockers that make the 7 a little less dangerous than the QJ combo. Not sure our EV differential is much so basically trying to punt and play D.

I don’t hate the QJ though.

Rich, you haven't given your thoughts on the last problem you posted.

I dumped the Q7. I don't want to give the dealer any potential at all in that spot.

Quick impressions

1) A2dd- keep flush. I have blockers. I cant get out but getting oppo to >105 maybe >110 is a disaster

2)May wtf this and toss the 4s. I’m sitting 10 with good potential for more. If the 6 pops I have 2 blockers. Otherwise tossing 4T

3)KK. I need to go out or get close enough to peg out. I’m losing almost all the time here regardless. Best I can make is 10 if a 6 cuts which is still probably not enough. If I throw 78 or then I can almost guarantee oppo goes out and I have 5 outs for 12 which is still not enough. Oh and pray to the spaghetti monster, cause only he can help in this spot.

I agree with danspartan. In the first hand you just need to keep the dealer from a big score.

In the second, you don't need to play particularly defensively, nor do you need to stretch.

In the third, you need a miracle, beyond a great cut card. You will need to peg a bunch of points and win right now. Keeping the 5778 gives you the best chance at runs and three of a kind. You still lose a majority of the time. If Surrender for half your wager is an option, take it.

Play. A lot. Download CribbagePro Online, you can put in absurd volume vs the cpu and play actual people as well (hit me up: richgangi). Also, I found this book to be a huge help.

It's a great game. Enjoy, and good luck!

Life has been busy and app is wonky for me. Spending the weekend with Dad. His eyesight makes pegging hard so I have to peg for both of us. His cribbage skills are still sharp....

Something with connecting and stalling. I have very good signal and WiFi at home

Smoked Dad with the follows series scores:
3-0
2-1
4-2
4-1

13-4 overall. He is an excellent player.

3 times in the stink hole. Twice I pegged out leaving him at 130. The last one this morning he was pone needing 5 and I needed 27.

I held AAA4 and tossed KQ. A cut card.
I pegged 6 he pegged 0
He had TT78 for 4
I counted 12
He had tossed J4. I had the perfect 9 in the crib.

Much obnoxious gloating ensued.

I had to slip out of town before I got arrested for elder abuse.
