It's mostly lack of other options making sense, but yeah the general "toss something in a bucket." Don't have any specific games in mind.

I think there is a carnival game where you try to land a softball in a bucket, but I'm thinking of ring toss.

Yeah, there definitely is. And the bottom of the bucket is super springy which makes it impossible lol.

I think Dwarf toss is a possibility as well, though that'd be a pretty abstract way to get to Dwarf.

Saying "toss" for dwarf and axe would be kind of weird. The dwarf from the lord of the rings would be a good clue if I knew his name

I agree on axe and dwarf being most likely at this point

Break is kind of weak. If you toss something it implies a haphazard throw in which case something might break.

I've heard people say "toss it in a file" but given that bucket was no good I don't like that one anymore
