I dont care who is 2nd, but agree with the bold. I think game 5 provides a good example. Objectively, blue had an easier board, but red won twice. I think we would need at least 5 mirror games go 4-1 and then give the 1 an extra point. With 3 games I am not sure we can conclude anything from all these 2-1 rounds, but I doubt that board difficulty was the deciding factor.

Agreed. Even though it goes against me (and IBD), I think H2H decides it.

(You can change the scoring in the future, but you can't fault it after the fact.)

i think dalmatians v. fantasia would make for a more fun match bc fantasia beat them before and both teams have 4 wins. meanwhile we lost to bambi before, so that'd also be a feel-nice pair

I think if we are being objective here, and considering only 5 games were played, that wins should trump H2H. The 4/5 team (Fantasia) should place higher than the 3/5 team (Cinderella).

If we want to talk H2H resume (that Cinderella beat Fantasia H2H) then Fantasia has a counter to that in that they handed Dalmations their only loss, and Dalmations is the #1 seed..

I mean a 1-loss Fantasia beats the number one team in the nation, and is out of the National Championship game... to a 2 -loss team.....outrage...outrage.....lol

Just my opinion though..

Under the old scoring system I think it would have been...

Dalmations - 14
Cinderella - 13
Fantasia - 12

But yeah, idc. Whatever arbitrary system we use, it doesn't much matter to me.

Oh god... yeah.....forgot how bad that was..... a team could go 2/5 and snag the 1 or 2 spot under the 5/3/2 system. Glad we went to 3/2. Probably should just go 2 points for all wins next time.

We played the first 5 games to determine the top 2. Now they are supposed to battle it out. It's just a question of who is 2 and who is 3.

IRTM, with due respect, asking someone to come forward and make a decision (by making threads) seems a bit awkward for everyone.

Fantasia and Cinderella are tied. There was no tiebreaker rule declared. So have them play a one game playoff game and the winner is 2nd place. Nobody is going to object to them playing an extra game, and I bet both teams will find this decision fair.

Nothing to do with codenames is clear.

Why not have every player vote on how to handle it? Choose between Cinderella, Fantasia, or extra game. If there is no winner of that, then an independent party can rand the top vote getters.
