are we (guessers) allowed to discuss former clues before the new clue is given?

You're allowed to talk to your partner but you can't give me explicit content or clues to help you. Afaik you can talk when it isn't your turn though if that's what you're asking.

C4 thoughts:

Bomb - explosive
Powder - (gun-), explosive
Pound - how much c4?
Spy - tool of the trade?
Thumb - on the trigger
Drop - a la bomb

[+1 manager guess]

Snow - knows nothing
Key - holds it (to the shop/safe)
Cap - many hats

I kind of like snow for John Snow as well as captain, looking at the other clue now

I like bomb and drop the most, not really sure on powder, it makes sense but key and thumb are also good I’m okay with thumb perhaps as the final guess.

Shall we go
Snow
Bomb
Drop

Then I’m partially inclined to pass or go thumb then pass. I guess we could fire powder if we are feeling brave but don’t think we need to win in 2....

Famous last words

I’m confident on
bomb
Snow

Then will wait for teammate

Thinking more about it, do you drop c4 ? I guess you do
Pound of c4 works
Gun powder as we said
C4 beats all competition - but that’s a stretch
Spy works

I really don’t know. Out of all of them I’d now say pound could be the next one to guess and then we pass but also could go powder or drop before passing. It’s a good clue but connects loosely to so many

red has 9 words and blue has 8

alright, so we've got our 5 managers plus 2 c4's - 7 total, 2 remaining with 1 clue outstanding

it's generally pretty easy to pick up a 1, so we could really pass here at let Blue POE down the list a bit / risk an assassin

unless we think blue is going to go 5-for-5 in their next round...

I'm inclined to pass - thoughts, eleanor?

Assuming we got the 5 managers, I’m fine with that approach. Gonna be difficult for them to close it out. Too many obstacles at this point
Let’s keep it moving
pass

Ah just realized we only have 6, oops. Still think passing is better anyway

Okay, so I think Cricket is the other one for Camping (being outside at night, hearing crickets chirping). We probably shouldn't have guessed Sherwood anyway as it might have been a Manager blocker. So, Cricket and Wake close out Camping - 5, imo. That leaves us (hopefully) with Dried - 3:

Atlantis - Nope
Beat - Maybe you beat something as it's drying? Do you beat leather when you're tanning it?
Cap - Don't see it unless we're taking a cap gun that has a little bit of gunpowder in it (huge stretch)
Drop - To drop someone, abandon, leave "high and dry" - huge stretch, but just trying to think of all possible connections
Engine - can be dry of oil or gasoline
Key - Don't see it
Peach - Dried peaches
Pound - Maybe pounding something dry? Tough to separate this from beat, but it's a possibility
Powder - This is a lock
Pumpkin - Same with peaches, dried fruit
Spy - Don't see it
Thumb - Don't think so; much better combos for powder and thumb (gymnast, billiards, chapped, etc)

For Dried, I think I'm at:
Powder>Peach>Pumpkin>>>>Pound>>Beat>>>>>>>>>>the field

Hopefully Wake and Cricket are the finishers for Camping.

What say you, D1iab?

I think the past tense is important here too. No one talks about a "dried engine" or "dried thumb." Dried peaches and dried pumpkin are a thing.

Using dried as a verb is the reason Pound and Beat need slight consideration. Unless I'm missing something glaring, it's between the five I named.

Dried crickets are also a thing, I guess, but that doesn't help us unless we want to consider one of the other words for Camping.

Agree with all this, and good call on cricket. Only other thing that makes sense is cap, as in mushroom caps, but that would be very easily overlooked.

But I think we pretty much have to go with powder/peach/pumpkin/cricket/wake in some order and hope for the best.

We need to finish this now, so order feels unimportant if we're agreed on those being our five. Probably best to just rip the bandaid off.

Let me know if you're good with that. I'm fine with either of us locking them in.

Hopefully Carl really likes this post.

There is always at least a slim chance it makes it back to us, so order is of at least some importance. But yeah, let's just do this thang.

powder
peach
cricket
pumpkin
wake
