Lab - they are used mainly in two contexts afaik, one is in a lab (and I know there are science teachers present)
Horseshoe - the other main use for tongs imo is blacksmiths/metalworkers, making horseshoes and other cool stuff.

classics - 3 This is a a school subject and thing by itself. Getting rid of the plural, and getting to car model was a step further than staying with the actual meaning of the given word imo. I was banking on you guys reviewing this after, so didn't steer away from model.

Teacher - A flip between this and school for you guys, and one was neutral so you should get it on the next turn. This is spurs' spymastering 101.

I think I misunderstood the logic in your flip. You are either choosing model... OR... choosing school in order to pick teacher next go if school is neutral. This dilemma can probably be solved by basic statistics but I've been drinking so I won't attempt it right now

These games are time consuming and I just started a masters. I'm not sure I can commit to them any more even though I do enjoy them. Maybe we could try a different one of the suggested iterations that has less words but is a fresh challenge?

I get your logic. Carl was correct that it was not teacher and school, but that did not mean it couldn't be model. In fact, with two similar probables (teacher and school), one could argue that the situation makes model more likely than either teacher or school.

As far as us playing another game, it makes no matter to me, as I am not spymaster.... I think Carl is up so he can decide... Not sure who has not spied for Foxtrot. But, I am ok with stopping here or playing game 5..

Clue giving us the only thing that is time consuming. I try to limit myself to like ten minutes and not go crazy.

I'll spymaster if the majority wants to continue, but I don't mind stopping either.

If there is a desire to play the 5th game, I'm in, but I certainly don't mind if we stop. Lot of codenames and similar games lately, and I won't mind a rest. Of course, I'm a sucker for games, and like a rat with an orgasm button, I'll probably keep pushing it until I starve to death.

And if we play more, I'll try to keep unusual meanings for words to myself.

GG all, and great effort, Foxtrot teammates. We almost got there.

My recap:

With 50 words, there are so many blockers in the long game; it was tough to find clues that wouldn’t lead to at least one wrong guess.

Street 3 (block/fighter/model) – this was a terrible clue. Not just that “street model” is an outdated phrase; I simply didn’t consider all of the alternative possibilities. I knew limousine was a potentially wrong guess (and your first one, as it turns out), but never considered court and pass, let alone oil.

Animal 4 (cat/kangaroo/mouse/shark) – after blue unblocked bat, robin, and spider, it opened the door for this clue. You guys nailed those four plus fighter before missing with court.

Cricket 4 (field/stadium/India/stick) – with bat off the board, I thought I could clue for stick along with the other three. If you went racket instead, that would have been fine, too. You got the first three, then missed with pass.

Iran 0 – it was clear from your discussion that your next guesses were going to be arm for cricket (blue) and oil for street (dark orchid). I thought it was more important to steer you away from those than give any other clue. You guys got stick and spursed into Hollywood, which had the added benefit of seemingly satisfying the street clue (a good thing, since there was nowhere to go there).

Red 3 (dwarf/state/revolution) – I knew revolution wasn’t the same relationship to red as the other two, and I almost went “Reds” instead, but I thought that might get you away from dwarf and state. Belt was the most likely miss, and so it went after you got the first two…

Flintlock 3 (pistol/revolution/racket) – I think I got a bit too cute here. Clues get parsed very deeply in this game, especially with so many players, so I hesitated to go with musket because it’s a rifle, not a pistol. But I should have gone with it anyway, because the gun connection with pistol is obvious. I thought flintlock would definitely get pistol and revolution, and hoped you’d go racket by POE.

I have no opinion on continuing -- will happily play on if that's what the group wants, but am OK with ending it here if that's the majority opinion.
