Agree with AE about lip. That was really only conditional if one of our other words was wrong. I'm very confident we have all the mime/latte/fight words, and that would've been an easy +1 to pretty much all those clues.

So with that are we in a spot where Undertaker and triangle (pending) are our two words. Chain is the 1st back-up and 5th asteroid word.

And we need one more asteroid word. Do asteroids have craters I wonder, because craters have lips..

There was also a video game called Asteroids, but nails did not uppercase asteroids.

So what do we do. Undertaker, triangle, chain, and ???

I'm thinking lab...lip just doesn't really fit but with the 2 clue I'm thinking we have everything and there were only 3 words on our list...

Imagining some dude in a lab somewhere examining an asteroid under some microscope and some cell walls

I don't get why nails should see lip as conditional when we noted window as conditional but not lip.

He would have to assume we are going to revisit all the past connections and determine that lip should not have been there without conditions, and thus remove it.

As spymaster I would be more likely to give a 2 clue for 4 words when I wanted you to pick the 2 back-ups. In fact I would not expect you to change one of the back-ups unless it was noted as conditional (as window was).

I am open to not picking lip if we can make a case for what nails is trying to get us to do/pick, but I am worried about going off script.

well what better choices does he have if chain and lab are ours? he probably doesn't want to reclue with us having the words in consideration...and I would think the best hope would be that we just move off of lip because we see that police is ours and deduce that we're done with fight and still essentially move down the list.

as mentioned i'm also inclined to remove some % of the possibility of it being 2 + top 2 because we could have gotten an unlimited clue perhaps to accomplish the same thing.

How does nails NOT give a 3 clue for latte if lip is ours? And then to also not clue it for mime after that when we were gonna be completely off it makes absolutely no sense.

I am not saying am right on lip, but there is 0% chance that unlimited means 2 words plus 2 on your back-up. The very reason is once you got an unlimited clue with 4 words left you would rule out 2+ 2 as you would know that a 2 clue expresses with absolute certainty that there are 2 words being clued with the clue, whereas an unlimited clue does not convey any certainty how many words are being clued.

I don't agree that unlimited is 0% 2+2...would seem totally logical to me for team to do top 2.

But for the lip logic - I'm thinking nails could have viewed lip on the list as lip(if police is wrong) and then once we got police right wants us to skip over it because we should be done with fight

Yeah. I had thought ranch maybe for roping calves (chokehold) but it seemed weakish and then triangle seemed much better.

I agree we should do undertaker/triangle/chain and then see what is up.

yea I think that's where I'm leaning and it would be the most logical thing to do if those were our 4 words...lip just doesn't make sense to me - there's so much against it and would require nails to take the wonky path like 3 straight times

here is another thought we had not considered..

what if nails wanted us to pick window for asteroid anyway.. despite our "no" if mirror was good. He would be in a pickle then if he wanted window and chain..., when window was conditional.
