I like Plate along with Straw and Berry. Oil is a decent backup, and maybe Jam (though jelly would likely be the clue for Straw/Berry/Jam).

Then we've got Czech/Revolution/Court from the last clue. (Sorry about the Intl Paper idea; guess it's not as well known as I thought.)

Hmmm yea it shouldn't be all 3 though maybe jelly wouldn't hit straw so much while shortcake does...so I guess I wouldn't rule jam out. Nut would probably be my other favorite, maybe kiwi. Def on board with the berry + straw.

Don't think anything was that much wrong with the previous list and I liked the paper guess, think court is still totally fine for makeup.

I thought the same thing. But his team did not saying anything so I wondered....?? If this was a tourney or something I would have said something, but these are just "whatever "games so we can discuss when it is over.

But, my take is that shortcake has no "meaning" link to straw.

It would be the same as going shortcake 3 to get rasp, blue and straw, when a rasp is a tool and has nothing to do with a cake unless you add berry to rasp. Same as blue and straw.

Also, if we wanted to challenge this I should have PMd wahoo and asked him if his intent was to clue for straw, and I did not do that.

So , as the other spy I say no problem and game goes on and we can discuss later out of curiosity, but we play the game as is and the outcome is the outcome.
