Really surprised with how slow 2 of the first 4 games have gone. The 3-team 2v2 format seems perfect for just clipping along at a good pace....

I don't really get it either. Maybe the longer wait for a turn makes people forget they are up? Perhaps we should be sending PMs at the end of a turn or something.

Yeah I think it’s because you aren’t next after the other team goes; or maybe just bad timing; all the games have been moving slower the past 2 weeks it seems

It is probably just a cascading thing.. If one team is slow you don't anticipate your turn coming up in the near future, so you don't check in as frequently, which slows the game down even more....

Also, if you have people on opposite sleep or work cycles that can cause an unavoidable 12 hour plus lag which is nobody's fault..

JM3 and Nails clinch a finals spot.

Teams E and C need to win out to have any hope, but one team's hopes will be dashed after this round, given that they play each other.

Tiebreakers
4 teams - Two sudden death matches of normal codenames
3 teams - sudden death 3way game
2 teams - one game of normal codenames.

5 is not possible afaik

Tiebreaker will be sudden death playoff games.

Congratulations to teams D, F, and B for making into the finals!

We never set in stone what the finals format was. The last idea I suggested was first team to 3 wins, but I'll let those in the finals decide. Teams should probably rotate through the colors.

People have been talking about how to balance the game better for black. I had an idea that may or may not be dumb: The assassin does not exist for black. It immediately ends the game for the other colors. Possibly even add a 2nd assassin.

If black says an assassin word, it is revealed as "not black" just as normal in three way codenames.

If red or blue says an assassin, they immediately are out of the game. At that point, the game just goes on with the other two teams.

If a red or blue team says an assassin word after black has said it, only the red or blue team loses.

Don't think we should change the rules, but it does seem like black has by far the hardest route to victory.

They either need a 4/3 split to win in 2 or to hope that neither red nor blue win in 3.

Yeah I like the assassin idea for future games, might as well keep the same rules for now. Every team has to be each colour once anyway so there's no real disadvantage
