I think we've both been a bit too tentative as guessers, Latt. The last game stream was really the only reasonable option and I should have just said it.

I think it is especially important not to fall more than one word behind if at all possible, so you don't force an unlimited clue.

I don't think we were ever getting another turn there, so we had to go for it.

I thought this was a very tough list with some bad assassin blockers. I'll try to post more complete thoughts this morning or at some point today. We were close, though.

As I said, I thought this list was pretty tough. I was struggling to think of anything beyond 2 clues, and red can't win the giving 2 clues game.

I was trying to think of god-related stuff. I saw centaur as a problem, but I felt that divine avoided it best of the god-words I was thinking of. I didn't really think of staff as related.

This was just to avoid staff. It actually might have been better to just let you say it.
Staff is kind of tough to zero clue for on this list. I thought of employees, but that could get force. I was much more worried about stick. I was hoping you'd guess the words you had mentioned - staff to get us more caught up. I did not anticipate the ray thing at all.

I didn't think we were going to get another turn. I had Ketchup (**** this word) dragon tail. Red Dragon, and there are a few animal species that are red-tailed something. Thin, but our only hope. I also had to hope you re-thought the Ray>Ray Charles>Blind>cane thing.

Staff was basically our undoing. I wanted to concede after turn 1 actually. I knew we were ~never winning.

I just needed one solid 3 clue to give us a chance. Not sure what it is though.

I totally leveled myself about Ray. I didn't think you'd burn a 0 clue if only the 3rd word of my possibles was wrong. I also wondered why you chose cane as opposed to pole to get me off Staff, and was looking for a reason to discount more words. After I submitted Force, I briefly flinched that maybe cane was also short for hurricane and you wanted me off Force too. That's how much I let that 0 clue get to me.

It's funny that my waffling for the 2nd pencil word was good either way. Though I think having Tail left worked better than having Comic, as the Red clue doesn't work with that at all and we really would've been screwed (ketchup/dragon/comic? good luck lol). We still had a chance, albeit a slim one.

For Red, I did have Dragon next, especially since you capitalized it it fits for the movie title. Had Centaur been good, I'm not sure what my final Red word would've been, but Tail was on my radar when I scanned the list.

I agree with you, I've been too timid in my guessing. This series is my first exposure to the codemines variant, so it's been a bit of a learning curve adjusting the strategy. Plenty of game left in the series

And just FYI, I wouldn't apply a 0 clue toward any words that I hadn't mentioned, so cane/pole/whatever wouldn't keep me away from stick, I knew it was for 1 or more words I had mentioned. Employees indeed would've kept me off Force, so good call there.

Yes, even centaur and dragon are in play for animal (mythical, I know, but still creatures).

The Australia clue was originally for platypus and scorpion, but I saw wave as a possibility and figured that any two of those three would be fine. I didn't see any other possible answers for Australia on the list, though, so maybe I should have gone 3 on that clue.

I would always be super careful that a zero word wouldn't apply to any of our words, said or unsaid. In this case it was unavoidable afaik.
