I was 100% sure that JM3 was the chameleon, because I could see no connection between low and glacier. Then this happened:

The only thing more indicative of chameleonhood than a bad clue is someone not seeing that a clue is a bad one. Now I was torn. At this point I figured Carl had to be the chameleon, and that JM3 was seriously metagaming with a clue that didn't work.

Here, I figured that Gad had come to a similar conclusion, but wasn't coming out and naming Carl, so as to let the chameleon think that low was a useful clue - thereby keeping him away from glacier. I really levelled myself in circles on this one.

I mean, the dangerous Titanic glaciers are under the water, so they're low, but yeah. Hard to counteract 3 people with the same clue haha.

The bolded (and a couple of other things I said) was me trying to cause a little confusion. I wanted the chameleon to keep thinking of watery turtle habitats instead of the slightly off-kilter link to glacier.

Sea and ocean were words I hoped the Chameleon would land on, and I think low does fit well with those (low tide, low sea level) I was worried that with everyone claiming to see no link to the word (E_holle referred to it as "nonsense" or something I think) the chameleon would start to conclude sea/ocean were not the target.

I was probably being too paranoid, but I do think the village needs to be a bit cagey in how we discuss clues.

It ended up backfiring because JM3 got cleared by two people, so I backed off a bit.

It was never been explicitly said, but I think we should officially ban research. Thoughts?

By the way, I do realize that behaving in a deceptive way as a villager in this game is a rather delicate balancing act, and that I went too far this time. It could have ended in disaster.
