Opera + Hotel is probably a much easier 2 clue than it is a 0 clue with Beijing in the mix...

So you know my theory is that this game is solved by the other team getting almost all their words and then cluing you away from what’s left...


So I only clued you away from neutral words the whole time...Himalayas was assassin so I did view to get rid of that and hotel right after PC did

And it worked such that at the end your list which you recently just quoted had just 3 bad words on it: opera+hotel and then himalayas last, but the rest of the words were all ours

So I did Sydney for opera+hotel since famous opera house and it’s a tourist city so tons of hotels

Then I did Everest because indeed Beijing has mountains so going specifically Everest was for just himalayas so you would go Beijing...thanks Insanity for pointing this out


Grrrr at jmurder for being wishy washy on his lists...I spent the last 2 turns just cluing away your bad words and then you wanted to go bow out of nowhere...that woulda been the same not trusting spymaster that woulda killed us again...if I really had ****ed up bow with gift then I would clue shop again hard (like “Macy’s” or something) to let you know I didn’t mean to eliminate bow...instead I was just cluing off your list...let’s not stray from that

The reason I did that was because it was the last neutral word I hadn’t clued away from (I assumed view would keep you from himalayas and hotel since you hadn’t mentioned those yet)

And scarecrow was straw+head exactly...now that I was done with neutrals I was ok giving those to blue so they could be close to winning so I could get you guys to go for the win...and I figured face may be guessed by them as a bonus while you shouldn’t eliminate it forever from scarecrow

Too often we clue away from other team’s words and they get a bunch of them because those are safe guesses and before you know it they have 6-7 correct words and you haven’t clued away from any neutrals, making it really hard to catch up

Pretty sure there's a difference between being wishy washy on the list & thinking you're cluing away from certain words on there before delving into the post history?

All I’m saying is once you guys make a list in late game, I’m taking that as gospel

If one of our words isn’t on your list, then I’m dropping everything to try to rectify that, so won’t clue away from any words on your list. In other words, once I clue Sydney for opera there on your list, you know 100% that your list has all of our words on it so shouldn’t stray from the list from that point on


And yeah, gg; y’all did a good job of guessing...I wasn’t shocked at hotel guess bc I wasn’t able to hard clue away from it and Sydney was a stretch but I couldn’t think of any other opera+hotel words

That's fair. I read too much into the double gift because I'm not used to the all neutral strategy & thought there was a chance you were cluing us off our entire list & hoping we would realize which eliminated word made the most sense. Especially since that's the logic I used to realize that Opera must be theirs.

Definitely wasn't going to go with it without doing a lot more diligence, though.
