This game was absolutely infuriating.

Ireland 0 - cluing away from Leprechaun/Europe/church/Australia/port and towards Kiwi. I wasn't surprised you saw it as a clue towards Australia, but I didn't really care anyway since it was neutral. I did see the embassy connection, but it seemed pretty weak to me, and I figured it would be pretty easy to rectify later. Boy, was I wrong! (I also think Irish hits embassy much harder than Ireland does fwiw, which is why I didn't use it).

fish 0 - away from oil/line and port (again) and towards rabbit and kiwi. And no, I didn't miss the paste connection either, but once again, it seemed pretty weak to me. You should also realise by now that it's pretty damn difficult to hard clue away from certain words without at least soft cluing away from your own. It's unavoidable, actually. This is also the part where apparently no matter what I do, it's cluing away from rabbit.

guitar 0 - away from band/string/track/switch. You said switch anyway, but that was fine. You also gave me a list to work with here, which was great, as it should make my job easier now. Wrong!

So this was the list that I had to work with. It was pretty close, apart from ice cream and plot not being ours and embassy not being on it. Reds said plot next turn, so all I had to do was clue away from ice cream and towards embassy. Not that easy, but wait!

Antarctica 0 - clues away from ice cream/cloak and port (for a third time), and towards embassy (or so I thought). We might actually be able to win this turn. Or maybe not...

You also have now completely abandoned the list. You picked soul, which was fine, but now you wanna say line and track and port!!! Two of those words weren't on the list at all, and the other one was at the very bottom. I guess I have to start over. Sigh.

side 0 - clues away from line/track and port (for the 4th mother ****ing time now!). Perfectly, I thought. Apparently not. I didn't miss the backside connection either btw, but I had to hard clue away from those 3 words, since you were definitely gonna say at least one of them if I didn't. I also saw side as sort of cluing towards back, in a way.

What in the actual **** is going on right now? You must give me very little credit as a spymaster if you seriously think I'm going to give a clue that perfectly avoids the 3 words on the top of your list last round if one of them is ours. I mean, Jesus ****ing Christ!

This was by far the most tilting game of codenames I've ever played. I was actually starting to get legit mad at some points. At least you finally got embassy. I thought the game was ours at that point.

I had a few frustrations of my own, but we won so who cares?

I thought Port was a pretty weak connection to foreign, especially when considering how many words I was cluing away from even more strongly with that clue (Leprechaun, Europe, Australia, Kiwi, Embassy) & there were similar level words like Bond (James) & Tube (foreign subway). Regardless, was happy with that & thought it got us off to a good start. I figured it would be cluing toward Eagle (neutral) 1st & figured that was totally fine, too, & then Church 2nd.

Next I probably fps'd too much, but I thought I'd have the entire neutral list knocked out in 3 turns regardless, so why not clue necklace to get you guys off string & onto both Ring + Band because I obviously say Jewelry 100% of the time if that's what I'm actually trying to get rid of, right? I've clued for insanity enough times & he knows how much I like to clue toward things, so I thought we'd be fine (narrator: we were not fine).

Went with Gretzky next to knock off all the ones you mentioned...Oil/Line/Switch. Was hoping to throw a bit of shade on back (name on back of jersey), but at that point the whole neutral list + assassin were covered, we were ahead, & I figured we were in fine shape.

They got Ring & I figured you guys would realize at that point that Band was in the exact same category of being a ring-related word that I was cluing toward with necklace, not away from. Nope.

I knew they weren't going to help with this one, so I got a bit desperate & went Aretha only to clue off Soul & onto Band. The Band thing missed (at least at 1st) & i'm just left with you guys eliminating 1 of their words (Soul) & one of ours (Track) which literally didn't cross my mind because i wasn't thinking about that definition at all unfortunately. So now I have you guys never saying Band, never saying Track & throwing shade @ Port & I had no idea how I had gotten myself into this position after the good start.

I almost went field at that point, but I thought if I did you guys would probably think I was cluing against Track even harder instead of cluing toward it, & there were still most of their words I hadn't clued against, Embassy was off their radar, & they still needed like all their words, so went with stamp for Paste/Bond/Back & as a small side thing to throw more shade at Embassy (passport stamp) as a possible assassin word.

Everything fell into place amazingly when they switched off Back & onto Track. If they had guessed Port, I might have gone for a WW clue in Watch for the last one, but otherwise I was pretty resigned to going field if they left Track/Port/Rabbit/Kiwi on the board. It became much less stressful with Track gone.

Anyway, gg everyone.

Embassy was a good get by EB.

D1iab, we all three tried as best we could. We discussed everything and changed our reads based on new clues by you and JM3 and by us reevaluating where we were. We were not always in agreement on where we were (as you noticed), but we updated boards frequently and every pick we made involved all three of us agreeing on it.

No doubt we missed some things we should have got, and I can't speak for EB and PK, but I don't think I am ever getting to a spot where I see side as a clue away from line and track, but also a clue towards back.

Their push off back seemed weak and their push off track was good with Aretha. I mean Even Nich said afterwards that he was surprised track was theirs based on JM3s Aretha.

So in the end it was mostly me leading the push for track, but we saw side as signal away from back, not towards it. And we all liked track better than back.

Sorry this was a frustrating game for you but we gave a ton of effort and time to try and win this. We did the best we could.

Yeah, it was just frustrating because you actually had all the correct words, apart from embassy (which you then got), until PC started pimping track hard (well, actually he was pimping port hard; he was more anti-back). Then you all flip flopped, and I was pulling my hair out wondering wtf was going on.

It's always easier on the other side, but from my perspective, embassy was hardly clued againt at all. So the fact you were "never saying it" was really tilting, especially since I tried to clue towards it. So when you then got it, against all odds, it was a big sigh of relief...until it wasn't.

But I'm already over it, and I know you guys tried your best, so nbd.
