Pitch also gets pitch of a roof so gets rid of shed, but it’s further down your list. Slope woulda been less confusing.

I don’t know how brass relates to pitch at all.

And I’m from the southern USA and every restaurant in America serves iced tea in a pitcher so tea was always pitcher for me but you guys are from UK and Australia so it didn’t eliminate pitcher for y’all

Probably not going to bother with a full write-up (maaaaaybe later), but out of idle curiosity, don't you think maybe when I said "round" instead of "circle" I would want to eliminate things that are totally round like kiwis & keep things like "degree" which I 100% would have said circle if I wanted to eliminate it?

Brass = brass instrument = pitch.

Also, we did eliminate pitcher initially, but we said it because we thought it would be no worse than neutral, and we didn't really have enough info to make an educated guess at anything else.

However, a word on strategy:

If we are blue then we have 8 words and there are 17 words that are not ours.

So think of the game as a counter going from 17 to 0 and we win when we get to 0.

If I clue you off pitcher then we go from 17 to 16 (tea was also mug and water so let’s call it 14)

If you guess anything but pitcher or a word that I’ve clued you from, then the counter will go down by 1 unless we are unlucky enough to hit our own word at random.


So you should be guessing any random word that I haven’t clued you from. Of course, red team also has a counter so you don’t want to guess words they’ve been clued from as your random guess.



In an ideal game, both teams would guess a red word then pass each turn for the first 4 turns...that would be 8 words off of our 17 plus I get 4 turns to clue you off the other 9 words and we win.



Anyway, there are other considerations (like making a list that happens to have rest of our words at the top so we can clue away from a few and the rest are ours) but that counter is the key to keep track of and to use when figuring out what to guess.

Also, given that this game is about eliminating words, not cluing towards words, I believe blue should go first from now on.

Red has to clue away from 16 words.

Not fair that red goes first and has one less word.

Meh, I disagree. They'd already been clued from pitcher, so us saying it doesn't help them at all, and we weren't totally sure we'd been clued away from it 100% anyway. If we pick a random word that neither team has been clued from, that helps them just as much as it helps us, maybe more.

Also, I don't get this at all. That seems like the optimal way to play and what we've been doing the whole time?
