Meh I don't remember what it was specifically. But basically they gave nothing to opponents. But the direction of the card faced gave the count and attitude to partner while not giving anything away
They played Slawinski leads which I don't really know since I never played them but the gist was that they would lead the same card from xxx as they would from Hxxx (or any case with the same number of x's). Then they signaled whether they had an honour in the suit with the direction of the card.
So they were basically giving bulletproof count and attitude with every opening lead.
Of course as people who played against them a lot have brought up repeatedly, this was the cheating method that got them caught, and not the only cheating method they allegedly used.
