Same for Cocaine Bear, but that didn't really mean much.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't see how this movie is going to appeal to the masses. Social media ain't everything.

Yeah Barbie is all over the Internet, but that doesn’t mean it’ll cap; it could do something like 100M as a lot of people who like the memes and stuff online don’t actually wanna go sit in a theater to watch Barbie for 2 hours

yeah Barbie could end up being huge; it's really hard to predict

it needs to be good, though; the internet loving it isn't gonna carry it to 150M+ if it's not any good....seems like it has a decent shot at being good tho, surprisingly

It's obviously way too early to call, but it's looking like mdot is pretty close to already having this on lockdown. 2 capping movies may be too much for anyone to overcome unless everything else bombs. And with Aquaman and Exorcist apparently both being colossal turds, I'm probably already drawing dead.

I thought Mario would be popular, but $550m domestically and $1.25b worldwide is ridiculous.

This is my first year in this pool. Has the cap always been $350m? It feels like without hitting 1 or 2 of those, you’re dead.

And yeah, if you don't hit a capping movie then you probably aren't winning, but maybe it's happened before? Hitting 2 is pretty much lights out for the rest of the competition and doesn't happen too often.

There was a time when there was no cap. I think Avengers was the movie that put an end to that, but I could be wrong. And as far as I remember the cap has never changed (barring covid years).
