iirc Cloverfield received the same kind of reviews, people complained about the plot, lack of closure, shaky cam etc. and it was one of my favourite movies around that time. Unless reviews for C2 are "absolutely terrible, utter trash" I don't expect I will regret watching it

16% out of 19 reviews, but audience seem to be tolerating it with 63% (Expect that number to go down as those who weren't stoked to watch it on release day chime in.)

Ouch

"It feints at a parable for paranoia in an age of weaponized information. Instead, it's a reminder that what we love can be quickly ripped from us. After all, who knew when they woke up Sunday that the Cloverfield franchise would be dead hours later?"

That being said, The Nerdist gave it a 4/5. So who knows, maybe it is a great lore continuer. I'm skeptical I want to waste my time watching it though, so your feedback will help in that manner.

I watched it last night. Confirmed turd.

I actually have no idea why they feel the need to connect these movies to the Cloverfield universe. Feels utterly pointless.

I enjoyed the first two in the series immensely, but was rather disappointed with this one and honestly just waiting for it to end.

Seems that reviews from even Cloververse lovers are polarized but yes, it seems some people share your reviews.

Might get to it tonight. Might not.

Saw a free sneak preview of Game Night yesterday. Some funny moments but a bunch of cringe worthy scenes. Glad I didn't pay to see it.

Yes I am. I think they're doing free sneak previews to generate some positive buzz from moviegoers before it gets panned by critics.

Game Night pulls in an 84 RT score, but will be crushed under the weight of week two of Black Panther. BoM is calling for 17-20 mil.

New Mutants pushed back to February 2019 http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/the...new-character/.

Also Black Panther crushing so hard makes me regret taking such a high variance movie with my 2nd pick.

Yeah it is now looking like Disney's big push this year will be towards Mary Poppins 2. I would trade Antman 2 for Mary Poppins 2 at this point.

Saw the trailer for Wreck it Ralph 2. It looks... terrible. Like, wtf? The original was really good and this looks really bad. When was the last time Disney made even a decent sequel? Toy Story 2?

Mary Poppins 2 looks like it might be a great moneymaker, but Disney giveth and Disney taketh away, they ****ed me by moving Avengers 2 up a week which will absolutely crush Rampage.

Rampage got moved up a week too, so it doesn't really change anything.

Goosebumps did 80 mil. I don't see why this would do much more than 80 mil.

A Quiet Place with a 50 mil opener and great reviews. Looks like a hell of a 6th round steal.
