If this movie makes like $200m, I may have a shot:

Certainly looks like it has the potential for greatness, altho commercial success may be elusive

After watching the trailer...movie has WOAT potential, and GOAT potential. Not sure I have seen a trailer that has me more confused about the movies quality.

Looking at what people have earned and what they have left, I think thingyman is a ~$50m favorite at the moment.

Power Rangers did okay, and Get Out crushed.

Dunkirk and Despicable Me 3 both look like hits.

For me....looks like Alien Covenant may miss $100m, which hurts a bit.

Did Power Rangers really open at 40 and only make 85? Thats pretty terrible. It's the only movie this year with a 40 mil opening that failed to reach 100

Pirates has a good chance to do really well this weekend. No real competition with Baywatch/Aliens being counter programming and guardians in week 4 and a holiday weekend to boot

It's going to have to make a lot of its money week one or have fantastic word of mouth with wonder woman coming out next week though

Meh, I still think I'm a decent favourite over Thingy pending the release of Dunkirk...I just don't seeing it being a big hit.

Was there a more obvious bust than King Arthur? I mean it had a 175 million budget, yet lasted until round 4 when I took it.

Baywatch and Pirates both have abysmal RT scores so I am not expecting more than 150 total out of pirates even with an 80+ opening. So that really sucks.

Saw Baywatch tonight with MrsAK. Neither of us expected much but we both thought it exceeded our expectations. I don't know if it makes $100 million but we were at the 5:40 p.m. show and it had a decent audience.

Wow, I saw the trailer for Dunkirk for the first time tonight.

Looks awful, this is supposed to be one of the big summer blockbusters?

Until further notice I've got all Nolan films as must sees. Tarantino is the only other one in that category. Scorsese is close, but I'm still not itching to watch Silence.

Damien Chazelle is one movie away from entering that category. Interested to see what he does with First Man, a Neil Armstrong movie next year.

Yeah, Scorsese is my favourite director and I haven't watched Silence yet either. I'll definitely still watch it tho...it's just something that I'll have to be in the right mood for. But I'll be all over The Irishman as soon as that comes out.

Nolan is someone who hasn't made a movie I haven't liked, but he hasn't made one I really love either. So I end up watching all his movies, but I don't really get hyped up for them. And Tarantino is much the same these days - I haven't really loved any of his movies since the 90s, but I definitely will still watch whatever he makes.

Danny Boyle and David Fincher are the only other ones I can think of where all their films are must-sees for me.

Silence was decent. Good acting. Nice cinematography. But the pacing of the film and the amount of history it tries to tell, especially towards the end, doesn't work very well.
