I always have a set of rankings put out before revealing, but they have a tendency to change as I listen to stuff while revealing. The quality jump coming up is pretty big.

This just dropped like five places in a reshuffle, so someone's got solid grounds to be mad. Ultimately wasn't quite as 'oh wow' as some of the others. Still really liked this though. Very very close, and if you asked me again tomorrow this might have cracked the top ten.

Now THIS nails 'warm and wintery'. As you'd expect from the title. Against it - well, it's a little too long without that much change (as usual for dance music), and the spoken word stuff is a little cringeworthy. But it's just so warm and nice and happy and bouncy that it really does put a massive smile on my face.

Easier decision here. This has one absolutely beautiful sound, but nothing else. And, well, that one sound is just so lovely, but it doesn't quite give it enough to push it higher.

Iirc then tchaz sent me like 4-5 songs for each cat and told me to just pick one of these and then for some reason he got mad before reveal and told me to delete his PM.

One time I realized I was not scoring the correct tchaz song right as I was about to reveal and it bumped him from ~20th to 1st. If mods knew what song to score he'd win all of them.

Yeah I don't know who anyone in this genre is. Get me drunk enough and out with a group of friends and I might jump around to this a bit, but it's not that interesting to listen to when just sat at your desk.
It's not meant to be something you'd jump around to.

As Fnord said, it 's something to listen to at your desk, plus I thought my description of snow falling was to indicate I wasn't trying to give you something jump aroundy

Lesson learned, for the next Bloo walrus, no trance, lol

At least I know for a fact I'll score low on 2 of my other entrants, lol

So, it's an indie hallelujah, which is fine. But the issue is, it's not even the best wintery Arcade Fire track. imma stop you here, but Tunnels is both more wintery and the better song. So why go for Power Out? It's great, of course it's great. But I'm gonna stick it here outside the top ten for being a bit obvious when I also really like all the remaining tracks. And I'd never have been able to punish Tunnels in the same way because I love that song more than anything.

Tunnels is the GOAT Arcade Fire song but it wouldn't cross my mind to submit it to a winter category.

Something from Suburbs did cross my mind for the USA#1 category though, but I can't go full hallelujah in Bloo's Walrus.
