The Big POG Reunion Project

I've talked about doing this for maybe 5 years, and the time has finally come.

Over the course of the next week, I will be PM'ing every single person that has ever played werewolf on 2+2 between 2006-2018, hoping that they'd like to come back for one or more reunion games.

Even if only 10% say yes, that would still be about 200 people. And imagine if it's more

I'm excited and hopeful about this. I'm feeling very nostalgic these days and would love to see all my old friends again.

This thread will be continously updated with new information.

AND FEEL VERY FREE TO CHECK IN AND SAY HI HERE, WHETHER YOU PLAN ON PLAYING OR NOT

I won't be playing either but want to say hi and I'm interested to see who responds.

Hai der.

I haven't been on POG in years. (I logged in to find unopened PMs from 2017.) But out of respect for thingy and a modicum of nostalgia, I slightly reluctantly consent to be INed.

I may get around to the forms, but basically:
  • - I won't be able to take it very seriously regardless, so post limits are fine and probably mildly preferred if not too strict;
  • - no date is better than any other at this point;
  • - times of day shouldn't revolve around me;
  • - vanilla ww, or mild vanilla-plus, is my preference.
  • - I got the invitation as atakdog but would probably play as Shrike instead. Gotta think about it. I suppose for true nostalgia, atak is the right choice, but when I replied as atak I saw that that account is at 49,999 posts, so...

I won't play super hard, sorry; I am too old, too tired, or too fill-in-your-own for that. But there are some folks it'd be nice to see again.

Thingy, thank you. As always your efforts are appreciated.

Thingy, could we see a snapshot of the "invitation" you sent these people? Atak's post makes me wonder what kind of forms you requested them to fill out

sup atakdog!!!!

This makes me more happy than you know

I really hope the old guard comes out in strong force! But you signing up alone makes this worth the effort! (it's gonna take me literal days to send out all these PM's, jeez :P)

I'll PM you. I'd rather not post them publicly, so as to avoid potential trolls filling them out/editing other people's info.

A modicum of caution seemed appropriate; my ability to turn back time is limited.

This COVID-y time does seem apt for a reunion game, so that's nice. Pity it wasn't happening while I was confined. (I got it, a rather nasty case.)

Thingy, do note that there will be no need to send invitations to my other accounts, which seem now to number about 135.

While POG is no longer any part of my life and I have lost touch with essentially everyone hereon, I do hope you get a nice passel of signups.

Oh, I know some of you people. I won't be able to play with any level of attention, so I'll pass, but came over to say hi.

Man, a blast from the past.

Hope you're doing well, Zurvan.

For all the people passing on this:

Even if we did like a super post restricted "can't post more than 10-15 times per day" game for the super busy people, you wouldn't be able/want to play? Just to have an excuse to get some of you in the same thread and chatting again. And then someone is lynched also, but that's less important

Thingy, I'm not sure what work you've done yet, but maybe it would help to frame this not as a single reunion game (that could be stressful or involve too much commitment from people) but as more as a series of events that spans a certain amount of time. I know when you first inquired you asked about people hosting different games.

So maybe by letting everyone know there'd be something for everyone (short games, long games, casual, competitive etc.) maybe you'd have more success

Sent out 120 PM's thus far.

Gonna stop for today and reevaluate. Maybe the PM needs to be simpler, and we should include a poll in this thread instead.
