I had a flash of inspiration and I used a knife to saw off the tip of the thing sticking up inside of the cap, which resulted in a lot of little pieces of plastic breaking free and possibly falling inside. There was no other seal inside so apparently that was the proper way to open this thing despite there being no instructions to that effect.

Stupidest ****ing packaging I've ever seen in my life.

Sure this is an edible condiment?

Didn't taste like one.

It's semi standard for diy sealants and the like in the uk. I pretty much always take 5 minutes of futile squeezing a sealed tube before I remember.

The family and I are headed to Denver, and I need to rent a car. Do you guys get the Rental Insurance (the Loss Damage Waiver thing)?
06-22-2017 , 07:15 AM
No. Most insurance covers most of It, and a large # of credit cards cover much of it too.

Granted: In my opinion insurance in general is a -EV game, so for small dollar amounts I don't do it ever. Obv things like a house are exceptions because RoR and all that.
06-22-2017 , 07:47 AM
RoR psh, i've been ruined so many times
06-22-2017 , 08:27 AM
Thanks y'all.

Apropos of precisely nothing: On the list of things that are more addictive than crack I have homemade Chex Mix pretty high up.

I'm a fan of Bold flavored chex-mix. What's your homemade recipe?

I have never found the bagged stuff all that great, it just doesn't duplicate what I remember from growing up. It's just bland and way too heavy on pretzels and breadsticks.

Basic recipe is 3C Wheat Chex, 2C Rice Chex, 2C pretzel sticks, 1 1/2 to 2C peanuts, a stick of butter, 2T worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic salt, onion powder.

If I ever remember to do it I keep meaning to attempt a spicy version. Also think I'll try tossing in some Cheerios, can't remember if mom put those in or not.

I make my own pretty often. The last batch I made has lasted a long time though because I made it too spicy for anyone in the house besides me. I've quit putting cheerios in because they seem to get burned faster than everything else. My favorite addition has been sesame sticks. I also leave out the wheat chex now and just go with corn and rice. It's so much better than the store stuff.
06-23-2017 , 08:20 AM
i didn't even know this was a thing. i don't think i've ever had it
06-23-2017 , 08:31 AM
It's much better without the pretzels and with mixed nuts instead of just peanuts.

edit: you need all 3 Chex in there too, don't sleep on the corn. Missouri senator John Danforth was the heir to the Ralston-Purina fortune btw, old St. Louis money.

That's good planning there. What did you use to spice it up?

I would assume the Merciless Pepper of Quetzalacatenango
