I wanted to wait until Bhuber entered the thread because I wanted to see if they were going to gang up on him. But you scared me into spilling the beans when you implied I might be a wolf.
well

i don't necessarily think you are a wolf

maybe i do

or maybe i want it to be harder for wolves to decide what to do

Also I want to make it clear - I'm certainly not ruling out a Xkf/Bhuber wolf team but the way they keep going at each other makes it so much less likely imo

Xkf is absent from Klaivic's list and vice versa.

Sure, here goes.

Started last week when Drew was playing a WW game. Sounded pretty interesting. I'd heard of it before, and understood the basics... and had been reading a bunch of his game. Then I heard about this one as a team game, and I thought it would be a perfect way to get my feet wet. Little did I know he wouldn't be around much. Also, his game had about 20 players, lasted a month and was around 1600 posts by the end. I had no idea I was getting into a game this crazy when I signed up.

First day we were both much busier than anticipated. I got on the computer just after 8pm, and had missed all of the first day. I wanted to post, but the thread was locked. Sigh.

Ok, next day I get on in the afternoon, and there are already sooooo many posts. Like wtf? I think I read through everything... but it was like reading a foreign language.

Since I don't know the standard tells, I was just looking for stuff that seemed off. Stuff that didn't make sense. My #1 "stuff was off" guy was Thingy. Now I know better that stuff is always off with him, and he's just going to be difficult to read in that sense.

Reading him was weird. I got the impression right away that he had a really good sense of how to look villagery if he wanted to. Because of that, I just thought it was more suspicious that he'd come out with villagery things whenever he was challenged. Also, I don't really respond well to "you're wrong" without understanding why

That night, it came down to the vote. It was between the wolf and the seer pick I think. I still didn't know what the **** I was doing. I had no reads on anyone, so I didn't feel comfortable voting for anyone at that point. I left my vote on Thingy, and we had a tie. I remember someone saying "you have to pick a wagon", and I'm thinking "no, I don't". Yeah, I'm stubborn...

Next day, I'm still suspicious of Thingy, but something changed. His exchanges with me started having a different feel to them. The one post that made me change my mind on him was when he said something about how the wolves want me and him at the final 3, because I'll vote him. I felt like that was him winking at me, and was the first time I felt like I got some of the subtext of the game. I felt like I should still pretend to go after him, but at that point I was pretty convinced he was a villager.

He goes home that night, which I didn't expect. I thought he played it up pretty well that it would be a good idea to keep the two of us around until the end.

Since I don't know what I'm doing, and can't read people for crap... the only thing I felt I could rely on was the seer. I voted for kruze/leafs two nights in a row.

After Thingy left, I stopped attacking, and was more of a sit back and watch type player. I'd say stuff about what I saw, and hope someone would make a mistake and reveal themselves. I didn't expect to catch it myself though.

I felt like I had a hard time trusting my reads on anyone up until yesterday. I think it was yesterday. The days are bleeding together a bit right now. bhuber posted his wolf picks, and was pushing me hard. I felt like only a wolf would come up with that... no one was even talking seriously about me being a wolf, other than some off hand attacks. No big deal.

Later last night, I felt that Leo/DWetzel were villagers. Ok, they were "cleared" or whatever... but I wasn't relying on that. My villager read from Leo came from when he responded to my question about why we were voting gpitch. I guess that was two nights ago. Sigh. Anyways, the matter of fact straightforward answer just felt right.

After seeing leafs/kruze flip villager, I felt a sick "wtf?" moment. I really wasn't expecting that... but then, that seems to be the theme of the game.

Today, I feel like the best thing I can do is just point out what I see that seems interesting/noteworthy, and engage in conversation with whomever is here. My thoughts are going to be really weak on this... lack of experience and all, but I'm believing Mr. X more today, and believing Redd less today. That's a feel thing, and it's all I've got right now.

This is by far the best post Klaivic has made all game. It feels really villagery.

Re: Battle of Hydras Werewolf Game

klairic, why did you feel you had to keep pushing leafs/kruze based on the 'seer peek'?

i thought it was cleared up itt that leo and tappo were the more than likely peeks as villas and leafs/kruze peeked as wolf was just mets trolling since he didnt push for them at all and called them villagery near eod1

I didn't know any better. I felt that a seer saying kruze was a wolf was still more believable than anything I could get from anyone else.

So we'd have a better chance of getting to the final 3 together... and then I'd vote whoever else was there.

As far as the peeks go... I guess it was cleared up to you, and some others... but often when I'd ask questions, no one would answer

My read was based on how out of the game flow his pinning me as a likely wolf team was at the time. I was talking before about how I feel it's important for people to share their perspectives on how they look to others rather than pretending everyone else should see them as a villager... and this is a good example of that.

My understanding of how others saw me at the time when he posted that was just waaaay off. So, either he's a wolf, he's completely out of touch with the game (seems unlikely), or he was throwing that out there to get a reaction (seems unlikely, but could be wrong).

Since then, I've just kept thinking of him as a wolf... and other villagers have been saying his name a lot too, so I haven't really reconsidered.
