If so then I obviously withdraw my objection and feel like even more of an ***hole

That wasn't how I read it, but I can see that interpretation

After thinking about it for five minutes.

Since Gad posted most of his picks about the South Island, I don't think it's fair because of the bolded above to take that from him.

TN should amend his pick to either Christchurch, the North Island, or something else.

Rule is he can't take over half the area, by interest level. If the South Island is the more interesting island, then I wouldn't think he could take that whole island.

Common sense and reasonable people win again.

TN: North
Gad: South

JM3 is up.

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread

I'm not happy about it, but I'll take San Francisco @ 122.4194° W.

Write-up where I pretend to be enthused in a couple hours.

Bloobird Pick Two

Starting Point: Las Vegas (115.1398° W)
Pick One: Banff National Park, Canada (115.9281° W)

A much bigger step this time. I considered San Francisco before JMurder took it, but honestly I don't think it's worth wasting a stop on. So I'm jumping ahead to somewhere I really didn't want to get beaten to...

At work, so no big write-up/pictures since my New Zealand idea is dead in the water.

So I'll take the Big Island of Hawai'i. (-155.0483)

It's somewhere that seems like it'd be a great place to live, but I wasn't blown away by it as a holiday destination, if that makes sense.

Considering that Osaka and Kyoto both have millions of people and are enormously notable and visitable in their own right, this is a bit like taking the U.S. Northeast Corridor to grab Boston and New York, but fair enough.

Warning that I may well draft one or the other when my turn is back around in 15 picks or so, depending on what else in Japan has gone at that point

Big Island definitely a solid pick, considered it but really didn't want to miss out on the Japanese heartland.

I don't know the area at all, so I really can't judge this at all. At first glance, it seemed reasonable, but that could be my unfamiliarity talking.

It's a much smaller geographical area. Not going to stop you taking a full week in either though, I'll just spend a bit more time in the countryside if that happens.

Yeah...I thought I had a cool plan, but then I was like wtf do I want to spend 3 trips for without leaving the west coast. Want to go back to my original plan/theme.

Eye, can I just vacate my pick & pass & draft something different in an hour or so?

It's early. I personally don't have a problem with it.

Though now we're probably going to have to deal with filthy picking it and telling us how awesome it is and how stupid you were to give it up.
