Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread

I guess I should go to San Diego at some point.

(My girlfriend's been working in LA some weeks, and when I went to visit her a little while ago we were considering either San Diego or Santa Barbara for the weekend. Ended up going with Santa Barbara and had a fantastic time. I think the last time I was in San Diego was to visit relatives when I was still in college.)

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. When I'm there, I'm basically they're for the beach & relaxation. I enjoy La Jolla particularly, but there's lots of good spots.

Beyond that I mean there's always San Diego Zoo, Sea World & Legoland if you're feeling that sort of stuff, some nice areas along the water with good restaurants, Balboa Park...I don't know, I'm not a good tour guide/traveler.

Yeah, we'll just proceed with the 7 we have.

At work, so no pictures or write up right now,

You bastards took my #1 (San Diego), #2 (Banff) and #3 (Vancouver), so I guess I'll have to jump to Tahiti and Mo'orea.

Are you still looking for another participant? I'd be in if so. Otherwise will lurk with intensity.

Sure.

Just pretend you're me in the draft order and I'll be the "8th participant".

So you can pick now.

I'll get a google spreadsheet or some **** tonight.

ENTRIES CLOSED now though.

Yes, that is correct.

Interested in write up, because even if I had 240 picks, I wouldn't take LA. I was really disappointed, and my expectations weren't even that high. Would love to hear how I'm wrong.

Back to Gad now.

here's where i had lunch yesterday

i was a bit filthy by this point in my trip. i think next time i might stay at a hotel.

yosemite is a great place to flirt! people are so happy and excited and friendly. but it's a bit hard to flirt with hot euro chicks when you've been living in the dirt for days. so yeah, for my next trip im gonna stay in one of the five star hotels there and party with hot euro babes, and a few americans mixed in for variety.

that stream i was standing in is in tuolumne meadow, it's about 9000 feet in october. it was cold! but it felt great on my aching feet after hiking several miles

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread

APRIL 1-7
LEG 1 -- VANCOUVER

After tournamenting myself to death in Vegas, I needed a more laid-back city to recharge before heading across the ocean. Vancouver fits the bill like no other. How many other big cities have the mountains and the ocean at their doorstep?

I can spend days wandering through Stanley Park:

Eating some of the best seafood, both prepared and fresh:

Or partaking in the vibrant food truck scene:

For active vacationers, there's tons of outdoor activities, both summer:

And winter (Cypress Mountain near the city, Whister only a couple of hours away):

And I can see the orca-logoed local hockey team:

Or even orcas for real:

Whew, that's quite the week.

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread

After kicking ass at sports betting (residual skill from previous draft still doing well for me), I'm going to relax in a Pacific paradise.

Tahiti and Mo'orea (longitude:-149.611389)

I'll be doing lots of amazing activities, including...

Snorkeling:

Dolphin watching:

4x4 jeep tours:

Awesome waterfalls:

Incredible black sand beaches:

Hiking:

And I'll be eating great Polynesian seafood, such as e'ia ota, the Tahitian take on ceviche:
