Leg 2, April 8-14: WELLINGTON, NORTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND 174.7762° E
Leg 3, April 15-22: SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA 151.2093° E
Leg 4, April 23-28: PHUKET, THAILAND 98.3381° E

So incredibly happy to make it to Crete! I've always wanted to go here, there's a little bit of everything -- beaches, mountains, picturesque countryside, big cities, tiny villages, history, food, culture. Everything I could ask for.

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread
Well that was close...but my research indicates they are entirely separate things so...
What makes for a good JM3 vacation spot?
Cool things to do:
Cool beaches...
Cool views...
Cool sunsets...
I'm in.
JM3 trip so far:

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread
So by my count, we have:
Re-rand: Me/JM3/Biester
Don't: Bloo/North/Gad
Abstain: xander
No one seems to have super-strong feelings about this, so I guess we'll do the democratic thing and let filthy break the tie? (which is obviously a terrible idea, but no one ever said that democracy worked)

wtf seriously?
Well, not going to let that ruin everything. I'll take Agra/Delhi and find another day trip.
Now it's on Biesterfield, and then I guess we rerand.
Is there a railer willing to rerand after Biester picks?

I guess that won't be necessary if filthy votes no.
I wanted to switch it up, but democracy rules.
Thanks for the offer, though.
Looks like xander is up.

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread
eyebooger, i'm happy to switch sides on that vote if needed; i feel like the pro-rerand side cares more about it than the anti-rerand side, and i'm all about whatever increases net happiness

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread
on a different topic, of the few places i've been in India, I would say that Jaipur and Delhi are VERY different but about equally enjoyable (I was at both for two different halves of a wedding), but by far my favorite city in Rajasthan was [UNDRAFTED] where this happened:
Also, I was only in Agra for a daytrip but surprisingly found that I enjoyed the Red Fort more than the Taj Mahal. It was late afternoon when we got to the Red Fort and there weren't that many people there, and it was really cool and labyrinthine.

That's up to you. I'm not going to mandate the change just because it's what I want. I don't really care that much either. I like net happiness too.

Nothing really. Something had to be least favorite though.

sure, i'll switch
a couple of people seemed to feel reasonably strongly about a rerand, and nobody seemed to feel reasonably strongly about no rerand
let's rerand
i'm sure this will come back to bite me in the ass as i will be nestled behind two people who will snipe me at every turn, because karma loves me

Re: Around the world vacation -- Game thread
Cool idea; here's my favorites and least favorites through 8:
xander
Favorite: Mongolia
Least: Tuvalu (i've heard it kind of sucks there, as with many of the Pacific islands, due to selling off fishing rights to other countries, climate change, lack of quality imports, and such...i'm sure it's cool to visit tho)
True North
Favorite: Crete
Least: Cairo
JM3
Favorite: Krabi Province
Least: San Diego
Bloo
Favorite: Wuyuan County
Least: Bangkok
eyebooger
Favorite: Tokyo
Least: Beijing
Biester
Favorite: Singapore
Least: Lake Tahoe (it's pretty, but i'm not sure how i'd spend a week there without getting bored; i guess it might depend on time of year)
filthy
Favorite: Maldives
Least: That stupid mansion in San Simeon
