I was a little worried after round 1 that we wouldn't get to LOLfilthy, because I really like the Yosemite pick a lot. Now it's round 5 and he's in LOLMoscow.

He's going to spend the last 10 weeks of this in a tent in western Utah at this rate.

Laos is, by consensus, the overlooked gem of Southeast Asia. Everything I've ever read about it has been effusive: the land is so beautiful, the people are so friendly, the atmosphere is so welcoming and relaxed...and all without the tourist crowds that plague places like Siem Reap. And Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage City, is a gem of gems: Wikitravel calls it "perhaps the most charming city in all of Southeast Asia," and it has finished first in Wanderlust Magazine's Top City category for superlative travel destinations four of the past five years.

In a place known for its beaches, volcanoes, waterfalls, friendly people, snorkeling & one of the coolest swimming holes in the world, & of course for its THE ROCK.

I hate my last pick now, there's literally nowhere in Asia west of Thailand I want to go. I'm going to pull a filthyvermin and head to Mauritius (57.5522 E) for a little bit of tropical island heaven.

I'm assuming you're talking about this.

For my round 6 pick, I'm choosing another major city. I'll spend a couple days here, but then I'm going to be out and about on another island.

I choose Manila and Palawan.

First, Manila:

There's the Intramuros district, the incredible walled section of Manila.


Rizal Park, the Filipino answer to the Washington Mall.


And street food. I'll probably try balut, as disgusting as it looks.


Then it's off to Palawan! Not sure I need to say much. Just look.








After relaxing in Palawan, I'll be fully recharged to take on the hustle and bustle of [UNDRAFTED] next week.
