Since xander thwarted my Botswana plan, I might as well trace a logistically natural route. Having travelled south to north in the Aegean Sea enjoying the sights and pleasures of manifold Greek islands, I will make port in Thessaloniki, 22.9444° E, cultural center of Greece, and proceed from there through the ancient kingdom of Macedonia to Skopje, 21.4280° E, modern-day Macedonian capital, which I will use as my base to explore that beautiful, beautiful region.

I might be taking this one pick too early, but I’m going to be a sad panda if I wait and it’s gone. So since people are in places like Barcelona and Scotland, I’m making the jump. I’ve promised myself (and my wife) that this would be our next big trip together. I really hope it’s soon.

Yeah, I've stopped promising a time for writeups, but they are coming. I have a pretty good idea what I want to do there, I doubt it's for everyone but it fits me pretty well.

To be fair, a couple of friends in mind lived in Zurich for six months for work and really liked it; they said you could take a train from the city center and in 20 minutes be at a ski slope ready to hop on the lift
