I submitted a dumb move at :57. Realized it was a dumb move, & submitted a new move that was also dumb at :00. We'll see how it plays out.

I had to look up the rules. It says moving time is 5PM EST.

Your 2nd PM was posted at exactly 5PM EST.

I cannot deem that your PM was late because it arrived right on the moving time.
That would mean that your 2nd dumb move would be the one we take.

Sound good?

The first email was from eleanor60 who wanted to go to Dominica.
That's a legal move. But it sure is a risky one!

The deadline was 24 hours after the first moves started no?
Surely with all the rules discussion it should have been clear when it started and how
Long we had

Isn't it easier to do the reveal in the picking order rather than the PM order?

Ooops. Almost goofed there. I'm supposed to use the posted order not the email order.
However, I don't think anyone else will want to go to Dominica.

First up is JMurder3.
He wants to go to Uruguay.
That looks like clear sailing.
$3,461,734 goes to filthyvermin.

I can see why you thought that was a dumb move!

That's the least of my concerns! It's better than the other move, though, I think. Although both are probably worse than "making an actual good move" or "passing".

Next up is Doctor Zeus and he also wanted to go Uruguay.

Another ruling required!
The map shows you nick Brazil by about 10km. However, the finishing point on the map is not Montevideo: it's a point about 40km north of Montevideo.
If that line actually went to Montevideo your move would be OK.
I tried both decimals and minutes/seconds and they both came to a point 40km north of Montevideo.
The map is obviously wrong. This is a valid move.
$3,461,734 goes to JMurder3.

Next us is xander biscuits.
He wants to stay where he is.
$5,000,000 to xander biscuits.

He wants to go to Brazil.
I sure hope there's no land between those two places!

I was next but I had decided to stay put.

Of course I didn't know about that $100,000,000 bonus!

Lots of time to move. No hurry.

Next up is Gadarene.
He sent me his next 4 moves! Oh, no!
Could you send me 3 PMs with your next 3 moves (one at a time, with the subject staying which move is which).
I'm not supposed to see these moves.

His first move request was to go to Chad.
That's legal.
$15,946.876 goes to iraisetoomuch. Good news for IRTM as the bank was about to foreclose!

and the last move was eleanor60 going to Dominica which was fine because nobody else wanted to go there.

I'll get to your questions and update the map as soon as I put my movie pick on xander's movie quiz and I get something to eat.

Be back soon.

24 hours? You must be thinking of a different puzzle.

I looked back at the rules to make sure.

The date/hour of the moves are 5PM EST on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Anyone wanting to make a move needs to have their PM sent by those times.

Luckily, no harm done.

Yes, isn't it great.
Somebody else made the same "dumb move" as you so your dumb move is nullified AND you get $5,000,000.

Yeahhhh...that move would actually have been even worse than I was originally thinking

I have a new, hopefully smarter, move submitted for Friday already.
