I just think a few things you have said have been off a tick, and I find that villager Herbie's reactions and observations are spot on even if I do not agree with the conclusions.

I always want to know why I'm getting votes if I'm getting votes, it's not a role specific thing.

I mean, it's day 1, there's no way for me to "clear myself" since nobody ever clears me for tone anymore

I'm not even looking to argue so much, I just like to understand what's going on. Avoiding lynches is one of the things I work very hard to do as both a villager and a wolf, so I pay a lot of attention to things that cause people to legitimately think I'm a wolf. Also it makes it easier for me to determine who really thinks I'm a wolf and who is just pretending to think I'm a wolf.

FWIW I have trouble buying the idea that Dean thinks he can read me after 3 hours of day 1, and I have even more trouble buying the idea that Dean can conceive of a situation where lynching me day 1 of a vanilla game makes sense
