ON the opposite spectrum, you have people like mets, who are happy to state any random speculation as if it's a known fact and have no interest in whether something is true or not and refuse to be held accountable for any of the fabricated falsehoods that I call lies and you call not lies (but you need to come up with a better word for me to use if you want me to stop calling them lies; we all know what I'm saying)
example: that I post more or less as a wolf depending on who my partners are
this is not an observation mets has made
this is not a theory based on some kind of logic or reasoning
it's something made up that he's never bothered to verifiy or refute by looking at any of the easily available data he could look at because truth and the seeking of truth are not priorities to mets
he basically just enjoys making up **** and leaning on the "I didn't know for sure that it was false, so it's not a lie" thing that you back him up on
I'm not calling mets wolfy for this because that's how mets is and that's why he's a pain in the ass to talk to in any context in or out of ww games
but I am calling hoya wolfy for doing this because it's not something I remember seeing from him as a villager
as to that argument that something isn't a lie because you don't know for sure that it's wrong, imagine this scenario:
I have a friend whose grandmother is old and has cancer and is expected to die any day
if I call my friend up on the phone and tell him that his grandmother died, am I lying? I don't know that it's not true
maybe I even think it's probably true
does the answer change if it actually turns out to be true?
I say, yes, it's a ****ing lie, even if it's true
for it to not be a lie, you have to say "I think your grandmother may have died" or something along those lines

if you think there's a better word than lie for that, then tell me what word to use
