I still say that life hits death and salt way harder than slug does, but I do see your point about life being their last word.

It's really the only thing that's convincing to me regarding slug > life.

also we had life as our top word on our list after turn 2 and he did a 4 clue instead of 3 clue, which seemed like a stretch clue trying to do 4 so we didn't guess life like if he clued 3


of course, it's possible he wasn't thinking about that and just did a 4 clue, but I hate guessing life after that


at end of day, I have no clue; this whole game has been confusing so I think it's a coinflip between slug and life with some spring equity in there somewhere

Not convinced on the logic at all about life not being ours, but I must admit your argument for life as theirs makes more sense the more I look at it.

I don't like life for dead because it's the opposite, but I can see that someone may think there is a connection because they are related as opposites

I don't like going life after he gave 4 clue when life was our top word

but at same time, he did salt - 3 when battery was our top word, so salt - 2 would have been the right clue for n-1

that tells me he doesn't do n-1 so we can throw out the fact he did 4 clue for life

zurvan did do an n-1 clue, though, which should have been for life, but he may not have been doing n-1 but rather just cluing 1 at a time if he had no connection between his last 2 words

so I think I'm at life is ok from our spymaster pov since he's not doing n-1 but I'm still worried it makes the most sense for blue's final word

more importantly, I think we just make a decision and not drag this out longer

opera was their next guess from 2 turns ago

the prior turn they had life as only non-guessed on their actual list, so I took it as life should be the n-1


it's best when people give list or at least next guess under their pass so spymaster and guessers are 100% on same page

I definitely made mistakes, and them getting Opera was imo necessary or we lose every time. I need to understand n-1 better. Sometimes I don't think I understand what "the list" even is. Like when yall have different lists before somebody bolds and the round ends. Im not always sure how to play that. Because of that I was basically just starting over each round for the most part. Some of their clues helped as well.

In my mind, I thought slug was obvious at the end, as it had to fit both salt and dead, and salted slugs die. I thought battery and atlantis were obvious, and was slightly nervous you might look at wake to fit both dead and salt more than life (wake like a boat makes in the ocean).

so on turn 2, these 2 back to back posts made it clear that life was our next word; we needed 4 more so if you clued 3 on next turn, we would always guess life

but you clued 4, so that was good

here I bolded the 3 words we wanted to guess in order...because angel was neutral, our next word is always the next one we had bolded, as we wouldn't have bolded it if it were not next

so here you could have matched atlantis+slug if you wanted (sea - 2 for atlantis and sea slug, or something else) knowing we'll always go battery for 3rd word since it was next on our list and you clued 1 less than the 3 wordss we needed



and yeah, without them guessing opera, we were in trouble...need a 3 clue to combine opera/slug/atlantis (3 when need 4 would get us to 100% guess battery as makeup)...shell is the only stretchy thing I can think of since the only opera house anybody knows looks like a shell and shell evokes sea so slug/atlantis, but there may be blockers...it's def a tough 3 word combo

When filthy bolded their pass, he said "I guess we go opera next" or something, and I missed it in the sentence.

Was playing catch up on the thread. gg, all. No worries, Zurvan - it happens. I kinda worried that opera hit structure, but didn’t think it hit dead, so was fine with it given that filthy made it clear we were guessing it.
