Lech Wałęsa was the face of the Solidarity union in Poland, back in the day. He fought the government and everyone else to get them to accept its existence. This revolution in Poland propelled him to the presidency.

Dingo, of course, is a wild Australian dog. Australia and kangaroo were obvious, but I was stretching for dingo -> dog -> Spot, worm. If not for ice cream, I might not have done that.

My first clue was kind of dated, and the second was quite a stretch, but I didn't think we were going to get four chances. I think we were lucky to get three.
